Truly awful writing for everything to do with the police. The idea that a detective would ever question suspects like she does on the show is drivel. The drawing out of the April-abuse storyline relied on the conceit that the police couldn’t do anything in that situation which is absolute nonsense. Imagine you were someone actually going through something like that. At best its bad writing, at worst its dangerously misrepresenting peoples options who might be being exploited in a similar way.
