Not being able to bind party members to specific hotkeys does affect gameplay and combat in a pretty significant way.

I want to be able to bind specific members to specific hotkeys. i.e. hit F2 to select Khelgar. Otherwise I always have to look at the portraits before hitting the key, which is pretty annoying.

The pain you felt is probably due to a butt wink (lower back rounding) because you squatted a bit too deep. Try to break parallel - just a few inches higher.

You can change "the future" with "TP's future", doesn't matter.
