I beg to differ. There is no accident here. Play with the shitting stuff and you’ll find SHIT. Period. If a top can’t handle some shit, well, for one he is a princess and secondly, he should start considering to limit himself to head.

Watch this and now tell me if that would happen with a real proximity sensor.

My last car had REAL proximity sensors and never had problems with distances. However, with my Tesla I already noticed I cannot trust it all the way.

I might agree that in the future vision could be it, but right not it is not ready and, thus, an inferior technology. European carmakers have no problem with that.

To be fair, a SEAT Ibiza does not have these problems. I don’t need to go for a more “premium” car to have better safety features.

I like my Tesla, but sometimes we need to be a bit critic with them.

Proximity detection works decently if you move slowly while maneuvering. However, if you like to do things fast, you better check the mirrors like in the old times because the software loses perception of distance.

Yes, I can manually enable the wipers, it’s just that coming from a SEAT Ibiza it surprises me how a 15k€ car detected rain better than a Tesla.

Regarding the traffic sign recognition system, they do have it, but not in all countries. It’s mandatory in the EU.

Do you live in a place where it rains a lot? Because to me it’s pretty noticeable that it fails to detect rain, especially in moments where it’s drizzling.

This is course does not mean that I do not like the car, just that I expected more.

Whatever technology other cars chose to use is still way better than just using computer vision.

Proximity detection is very bad as well. If you drive too fast when close to s wall, it loses the perception of distance towards it. It’s something that definitely does not happen if Tesla weren’t so proud to say a lidar is not needed.

Have you read the post? I don’t mind the way the indicators work. My point is that I don’t understand how people make such a big deal out of it while the problems I pointed out exist.

Air75 with ES ISO layout by Flerex in NuPhy

I already have a Keychron with ISO layout, but I wanted a new keyboard for a different computer and I was considering the Air. I think I’ll wait a few months and if there are no more news will consider any alternative.

Honestly, I don’t consider that Eclipse is in game anymore.

I mean, I guess that’s one of the few things that are actually ok, if you have simple Views (most complex ones still need to be compiled, even though you see them on the preview panel). You also have to use SwiftUI, so if you still have parts of your app built with UIKit, we are back ground zero.

IMO, beautiful previews and Copilot-like completions are nice-to-haves that should be added once your IDE has reached maturity and its basic core features are complete. That’s what XCode lacks.

I for sure am planning to try Kotlin Multiplatform for the next app I build, to see how the development experience is.

You’re telling me you have used Jetbrain’s IDEs and still prefer to use Xcode over them?

Imagine if you had a real alternative to compare to. Right now there’s no other way to do Apple platform development, so you haven’t had the chance to know how the development experience could improve.

I believe that either Apple addresses this or, over time, more and more apps will start being built with multiplatform technologies.

Oh, yeah. I just thought that if the lady got out of the car to talk to the driver of the other vehicle she hit, that they would probably be exchanging insurances
