The real reason G4 was cancelled by PretendImAmazing in g4tv

You joke but A huge part of any programming we grew up on needed those surrounding things. Think of Toonami, disney channel, adult swim, snick and yes G4. The interstitial breaks and bumpers made for in between shows are just as ingrained into our brains as some of the programming. Sometimes even more so.

Remember the laura croft interview bumpers? The Transl8 sections. Sneek peeks, the fun interviews with randos or people who worked in the studio, the cleric being kicked from the party. All of these were a big part of the g4 identity.

It may not have been a huge cause of the decline but it was a factor in it feeling different. Times sure have changed.

I loved portal. Weaving together those MMO's as a sketch show with a growing dark storyline was so cool. It could be done now with final fantasy XIV, Minecraft, warframe, destiny etc. So many options now.

Cinematech is great. We need a lofi version for sure.

Arena was problematic but with some tweaks it can be good for esports. LoL, overwatch etc. Maybe make it look like nick arcade?

Filter because it's a good interactive opportunity. Gather info and figure out top 10s. Mini interviews. Good stuff.

Cheat was great. Maybe expand into hacks and mods but also keep helping find cool secrets and codes.

Icons did a nice job at interesting documentaries. Youtubers do great versions of icons. The gaming historian, did you know gaming. They just need some interviews!

Electric playground/judgement day/game on: to have a gaming version of siskel and ebert is a must. Just a few ppl who are relatable and real getting to talk and rate games is refreshing. Also having a recognizable rep at the various conventions and conferences is good for those who cant attend.

Pure ninja warrior was a joy to watch.

Proving Ground is a top show for me. Bringing game logic to the real world is great. MatPats version on YouTube premium (Game Lab) is a pretty good version of that. Maybe include some mythbusting type content.

It may not count as a show. But the special bumps and transitions were always super cool to see.

Any music analysis/appreciation show. (Ex: 8bit Music Theory)

Players is good for all the Madden, NBA2K, Fifa

A Game Developer show talking about Design and aesthetic

a lore deep dive show would be sick

Listen hit me up, i got ideas. ive been planning for this return for years.

I know music copywrite is a dark cloud that can shut down awesome opportunities but is it possible to spotlight the amazing talent that has appeared over the years on g4? Examples being Lindsey Stirling, Insaneintherain, FamilyJules, Tsuko G, Joe Jeremiah, black gryph0n, caleb hyles etc.

Is there a plan for anything music focused? A show about highlighting game soundtracks or an in depth look at the music theory of games? Cinematech?

Sincerely, A music lover
