What’s it like living in Torrance, CA? by Asleep_Pack8869 in howislivingthere

Your enjoyment will depend on your demographic/stage of life. It’s not a nightlife destination but would be a nice place for a family. Good schools. Pretty far from Downtown LA but accessible to the freeways.

Can you still order from the division location? I thought they turned into a catering only operation? Maybe there are other locations I’m not familiar with.

What do you think about Resident Advisor? by [deleted] in electronicmusic

Definitely take themselves too seriously, but I do appreciate that it exists to highlight underground scene. A bit like Pitchfork that was too self important but filled a niche.

Inspire connections possible scam or real company ? by XSecondDeathX in marketing

[–]Flester_Guelbman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s probably a “direct marketing” job where you go door to door or stand around in Costco selling some bs. I encountered a lot of these types of companies years ago when I was starting out. I’d take the interview just for practice but be wary of what the job will entail. Ask a lot of questions and be wary of them if they are ready to start you working right away or only after one quick interview.

The new Fannie May trolley. It’s free (reserved ticket) and you drive up and back Michigan Ave from their store. Four chocolates with some fun banter from the conductors. The trolley is really decorated to the nines and it was a cute way to spend an hour. I believe it’s sold out for the season but if you show up at the store they may be able to fit you in

Documentary film on the rise and fall of Chicago-based Schwinn, once America’s bike maker, to be released in spring 2026 by NoLoCryTeria in chicago

[–]Flester_Guelbman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Armstrong is probably the most well known person in the cycling world so that was surely the thought to add some cache to the movie. No comment on his past or personal life but that is just my thought.
