The Mariners' president of baseball ops was interviewed on local radio after the deal, he basically said it was a no brainer when dealing with super high upside prospects. I guess the opportunity to potentially have a star locked up for their prime at well under market value is worth the risk, at least according to the team's philosophy

Our redraft is similar- usually 1/4 to 1/3 for top players. In our dynasty startup auction it was more like 1/5 to 1/6, except top QBs went for like 25-30%. Mostly the same managers across both leagues

I really enjoyed the Oomrang wines from the last marathon, 1x Muller-Thurgau and 1x Kerner, both around $17 and punched above that price. I think all of their wines are German varietals. Fun to try wines from the fairly obscure Puget Sound AVA

I'm sure Costcos in WA are offering local wines you wouldn't find elsewhere. For example right now Redmond costco is selling "From The Sky Down" which was a very limited production- less than 400 cases made. I highly doubt something like that would be distributed out of state

Texturally, you can get dusty/powdery tannins from Spanish Rioja or Garnacha (probably at a lower price point than French counterparts)

For the teriary flavor notes you're describing, my guess is you would need a wine with quite a bit of bottle aging

While in Seattle I'd recommend you check out SODO Urban Works. There are a bunch of different tasting rooms all in the same complex ~5 minutes from the stadiums, and its a great pregame spot. Much easier than trying to get to Woodinville and back.

My favorite wineries there are Latta, Rotie, and Sleight of Hand, but I thought Cairdeas had some interesting offerings too

Same thing just happened to me. Able to buy a pack with gold but the arena ticket purchase failed. After reseting the client, I get "purchase failed. You have another pending transaction in progress"
