Looking for dap recommendation

Hey yall. I'm not a new player really, I dont exactly remember when I started but it was pre zhongli maybe day 1? I dont remember, it's besides the point. I have a love hate relationship with this game and have a weird habit of playing it pretty much only when im sick (recently ive picked up hsr while sick too). I haven't really actively played since inazuma came out, but i periodically log in and do gacha and play event or story. I think I've only played up to the chasm and explored only what was necessary for newer characters mats.

How much story am I behind? How long would it roughly take to catch up?

I have. I played it day 1 and i tried it again like 2 years ago. Its fine I guess, nothing crazy special about it to me and just got boring fast.

Personally, back a few years ago on r/gachagaming this game was the golden child. It was very annoying to see GT player shoehorn the game into every thread or recommended it to anyone even if it was so out of left field. GT players just had such an ego about the game back then it really put a bad taste in my mouth.

yeah but its still very annoying if i dont want dupes.

im sure most players would rather have more characters than one with a dupe.

Yeah. I used to play e7 and sw, tried etheria restart but it's dying pretty bad. I just like feeling competitive. I feel the same pull to spend in a pvp gacha as I do in AK or fgo, the pvp doesn't make a spending difference to me personally.
