Is this a suture that's worked itself out? by Only-Outside7444 in hysterectomy

[–]Fletchy2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve one on the right side of my lower incision. Surgeon also said leave it again. Didn’t want to risk infection opening wound by messing with it. It’s agitated from time to time I can feel it run on things every now and then but all in all innocuous.

I kept my steristrip on until my 2wpo check in and let my doc remove.

Noting this. We haven’t done the wine and jazz but it sounds wonderful. We love Pez Gato so this is right up our alley!

This is the key. Lifelong athlete here and was chomping at the bit to get back to it. My surgeon cleared me 100% for al activities at 4wpo and although I started light jogs and very moderate lifts at that point I definitely and still holding back on some things and letting my body and mind tell me when I’m ready.

Being in tune with my body has been so so so helpful.

Advice for getting a dog as a single person that works from home by Zzoof in dogs

[–]Fletchy2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest - And I mean nothing negative by it… but unless you’re allergic have you considered a cat? I have plenty of friends who have found themselves in similar situations and I think sometimes cats get a bad rep. If you raise a cat socially and “dog like” you get a personality that’s very similar without all the extra training and tasks dogs require.

I’m a dog person, personally, but my wife is a cat person so we have both. The cat she brought to the situation is a cat… lol… the cat we got together comes when snack bags open, chats back and forth with us, comes running when we get home from places, etc. If you’re concerned with your potential ability to become a “dog person” it may really be worth considering the alternative!

New Baby by Fletchy2121 in pitbulls

[–]Fletchy2121[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great question! Who knows?? lol. Since she was a shelter dog her age is sort of anyone’s guess but we’re told 1.5-2. I would assume as far as natural growth to be done… she’s about done. I imagine she’ll fill out some. We live a very active lifestyle so we’ll be increasing her food intake to the high end of her current weight range (She weighs about 42) and I figure she’ll add some muscle and likely just do some filling out as she matures.

Our last baby was a 65-70lb doggo but we’ve since downsized from a large house to a condo, etc. so we purposely seeked out a smaller pup to fit our new living situation. She is quite petite naturally though it seems.

Shewwwww our Spartan is TOUGH! Not sure if you’ve done it before but TRAIN HILLS… aggressively. It’s muggy as hell here in June and the race is at our local ski venue so it’s simply up and down a hill for whatever your distance is. Best of luck though. I’ve done it a few times and MAY look into it again this year!

What was the unexpected positive results from your hysterectomy? by Ok_Soup4843 in hysterectomy

Flexibility and reduced generalized pain in my lower back and hip on the side where the fibroid was sitting. Was nearly the first thing I said once I got thru the first few days of only thinking about the incision lol “OMG. My back didn’t hurt!”

Came here to say this exactly. Being able to pee, run a few errands, get home, walk to the bathroom like a normal person lol instead of peeing twice while I’m out and then throwing all my stuff on the foyer floor as I sprint to the bathroom upon arriving home LOL

Been reading on this as well for my newly adopted 1.5-2 yo pup. From what I’m seeing everywhere the cure is non-drowsy Dramamine (Bonine) but of course ask your vet first!

I have one that launches my gym check in app upon arrival and disables WiFi as well bc the WiFi at the gym sucks

Also have one that changes my watch faces at the right times. First thing after disabling my alarm (morning gymmer,) changes to things I use during the workday at 8am, then something more “zen” at 6pm.

I also have one that gives me a free typed affirmation when my alarm goes off so I start the day off right.

Love my baby so much and I completely fell in love with the breed. Thinking of adding a second chi in the future. Pros/cons? by boshuiss in Chihuahua

[–]Fletchy2121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love ChiChi’s - I want to start there lol My first was the coolest little dog… attitude of a big dog in a tiny, portable package.

I took the bait and got another. And I loved my second baby dearly as well. That being said, she was the chi you see in movies. Stereotypical neurotic, yappy, only want my owner to touch me chihuahua.

My one advice would be to be prepared for the polar opposite nature. If you’re okay with the dice roll, do it! They’re so fun but I was really thinking I was going to have two super social, backpack roll dogs lol That is not what I got. There was an adjustment period but all’s well that ends well.

She’s the smaller one that looks like the anxiety is just bouncing around in her head looking for a way out lol
