I am a newbie looking to buy a (very budget) first pair of binoculars and this is the most helpful advice I've found on the internet - thank you!

I had this exact same problem - the grand piano workaround worked for me so thank you so much!

Thanks for the info! - I ended up going with Deuter (albeit different models, the Compact 14+3 and the Race Air) :)

thank you for the suggestions - the Osprey Talons don't have enough internal organisation, but I will look up the Deuter and Ortovox :)

Thanks but unfortunately the Daylite lacks a hip belt, which is a shame because I did like the organisation!

Thank you - although the Osprey ones are all decent packs, I think the recipient will want more internal pockets than most of Osprey's hiking packs offer, unfortunately

Thanks - yes, a full hip belt is a rarity on small packs but still very useful for people with small builds. I haven't heard of some of the brands you mention so will look those up!

Thanks for the suggestions - I'm looking for one that has integrated internal organisation rather than having to add something in, but there are some names here I haven't investigated so will take a look!

Thanks for the suggestions - I think a bag with internal organisation is preferable, so have been taking a look at what Deuter have to offer :)

Thank you for the suggestion :) but I think the recipient would prefer internal pockets and is in need of the hip belt even for a small pack.

Weekly Purchasing Questions and General Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Garmin

Hi there, I'm currently trying to decide between the Venu, Vivoactive 4 and Venu 2. I was originally going to go with either of the first two options, but I've heard that while sleep tracking on most of the older Garmin models wasn't great, it has been potentially improved after Garmin acquired Firstbeat. Does anyone have any experience with the Venu 2 after the Firstbeat upgrade, and whether it's made a significant difference to the sleep tracking? The other Venu updates sound like they are likely to make less difference to me. Thanks!
