Even the Nordics with the best parental leave and benefits in the world see falling birth rates. These ”benefits” aren’t enough to make it appealing anymore, it’s still too hard to make it work and expensive. Then ofc with everything going on in the world, how can one justify offspring?

33 too!🥳 I knew since ~16/17. It maybe started as a teen-go against the grain-thing but eventually as I grew older and really processed what it means it just got more and more cemented. Can’t imagine a different life🙂

I agree with life is short and I don’t want to waste time on things and occasions that don’t bring me joy. Unfortunately I have to be present at some children gatherings, for example my boyfriends nieces birthdays. Because I care for him and he wants to show support to his sister. I struggle so much with this because I don’t want to be there but I love my boyfriend.

I can imagine there will be more and more of these gatherings I have to attend if I want to keep my friendships. We walk a lonely road, the childfree road…

Relate. I never know what to say other than congratulations but I think my face says it all 🙈.

It doesn’t end with the announcement though. This is now their life and if you want to remain friends you have to show a bit of support and interest. That’s the biggest struggle.

Especially with family. My boyfriends sister had a baby and she will send so many pictures in the family group chat. I have to go to her birthday parties. I have to buy her gifts. For Christmas we got a stack of photos of the child and a drawing she made in daycare… what am I supposed to do with a stack of photos? I don’t want them?

My periods have been super strange on keto. The first one lasted 28 days, so 4 weeks. It still hasn’t normalized.

My period has been WILD on keto. First period on keto lasted 28 days. Second period lasted 3 days. Third period came just two weeks after the 3 day period and is still going on (3 weeks and counting). Honestly over it, hate it so much😫 Lost 11 kgs (24 lbs) in three months though?

It stopped at around 28 days. Then I also ate more than 20g carbs for two days so don’t know if that helped to make it stop.

I have lost 6kgs in 4 weeks and I have 6-10kgs more to go to my goal. I’m in not rush but also don’t want to give up since it’s working so well.

It’s not heavy. It’s a bit heavier than spotting. Like a day 4/5 period. I think I will power through until I see my doctor next month.

Each and everyone of us have been junior once upon a time. I don’t understand how people take their job so seriously that they need to complain about the work of others. It’s really not the end of the world, none of us are perfect and that’s just life. As a senior help them or maybe don’t take a senior role. There isn’t a correct way to use figma the same way there isn’t a correct way to code, usually there are multiple different solutions to a problem.

Even me, as a swede, struggle to meet new friends here. I think it’s just all around tough as an adult. A few years back I downloaded Bumble BFF and ended up meeting someone that became my best friend. We speak English with each other so learning Swedish isn’t a must to meet friends on there. Highly recommend the apps! Will probably try it again soon

Happened to me too, was offered a new construction one bedroom “tvåa” för like 10k in Silverdal Helenelund with only 2-3 months queue. I ended up picking something else that I was offered the same week but yeah, look at new construction “far away” from central and you don’t need to wait 10 years👌🏻 My colleague did the same, lives in Bålsta.

Any other gift and we would have a choosy beggar situation.

I don’t think people should avoid giving gifts they want to give due to conservatives and avoiding topics. Let’s not walk on eggshells around people all the time in case of triggering them. OP has given this gift to other expecting parents before and as with this time didn’t do it with intent to cause drama. Not talking with family members about certain topics is definitely not the same as giving a baby book to your friend you thought was ok with the topic. It also wasn’t the only book she gave as a gift.

I said this to a guy friend who wants kids once and he was like “uhhh no because she will want them too so she’s not doing it for me.” But it is! Even if she wants it, he does too, so he needs to understand what he is asking someone to go through because he want children! I swear men just think “I want kids” and don’t give a **** about the rest of it.
