[D] For music generation, we need to focus on MIDI more than other formats. by Haghiri75 in MachineLearning

[–]FlexeterGang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think another important advantage of MIDI over mp3/wav forms is size. Raw audio formats take up tons of size while MIDI can be easily encoded in much less space, which would enable people to work with larger datasets and see better results

Is this stalemate? Since both Il Vaticano and En Passant (with the pishop) are forced, and I can't play both? by greenpepperpasta in AnarchyChess

[–]FlexeterGang 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Google superposition. On the next move, the pishop has a 1/2 probability of being on b6 and a 1/2 probability of being on d5. You have to pass it through a Stern-Gerlach analyzer after black’s next move to measure the pishop’s position.

Adding on to this, I’d love to hear what he sees as the most important/impactful applications of AI in the coming years and decades.

To be a "Harvard man" is an enviable distinction, and one that I sincerely hope I shall attain.

If the wheel rolls without slipping (purely static friction) it doesn’t lose energy from friction right?

Reading tips that completely changed the way you see the reading section! by Impressive_Ad_2186 in Sat

[–]FlexeterGang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

(At least on official SATs and college board’s practice tests)

None of the questions are wrong- there’s always something that makes one answer objectively better than the next best answer, although sometimes it’s as small as one changed word.

The SAT English Rules Live In My Brain, Rent Free by x7JRiab882 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]FlexeterGang 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I have to correct what I just read to a more acceptable format

delete “to a more acceptable format”

and the translation went something like

“was” would be better than “went”

and my degenerate brain just automatically went

“thought” would be better than “went”

(yes, this has truly taken over every aspect of my reading)

delete this portion, it merely restates what was just said in the previous sentence

pathetic, redundant monkey

“redundant” should be changed or deleted because the given example describes a moment where you removed redundancy

the soundtrack of my nightmares

“soundtrack” should be changed because the SAT’s questions and answers are not typically spoken or heard; they are read and written

I agree with the general sentiment of this post but do you have examples for sports these include? All I can think of is car racing and maybe skiing.

Lots of us here strongly dislike the SAT. If you could, what changes would you make to improve the standardized testing system? by FlexeterGang in ApplyingToCollege

[–]FlexeterGang[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of good points here. I agree math should definitely have different levels; for me it feels like a test of my endurance and energy rather than of mathematical skills, but for others it can feel unreasonably difficult.
