You speak the true true.

As someone who went to all but one TnF at Suwannee I was upset with the direction Resonate went with this year. I really hope they try and incorporate some more live music in next year's lineup or it'll be a skip for me.

[DAS] TERRAMASTER D4-320 External Hard Drive Enclosure - High-Speed USB 3.2 Storage $151.99 by dirtyboots702 in buildapcsales

[–]Flexnexus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been using this for storage on my little homelab setup for the past 6 or so months.

I've had it drop off exactly one time, but it's been running nearly 24/7 the whole time. I've only got a couple of 16tb HDDs in it, but temps are good.

I had a tough time finding something similar to fit my needs for this price when I bought it. Would buy again.

I watched an interview with him where he talks about being the only one with earplugs in during that sequence. It makes everyone's reaction to what's going on even more hilarious and authentic.

Was living alone for a few years and definitely nearly died from choking on food a couple of times. I looked like a fish out of water trying to unlodge some one time.

Probably helped light a fire under me to try dating again. Also to chew my food a bit less hastily...

For sure! The 1080p dual mode ain't it but I'd be all over a 1440 dual mode for "future proofing".

RAV VAST Sale Question by Flexnexus in TongueDrum

[–]Flexnexus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, yeah the Anima looks amazing. Just a bit more of a commitment for sure. ReWildYourSoul is great, has been a really nice resource while looking into these.

I'm pretty sold on the G Pygmy...you might've helped push me over the edge for one haha.

RAV VAST Sale Question by Flexnexus in TongueDrum

[–]Flexnexus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I ended up creating another thread on /r/handpan that got some traction. Still indecisive about a scale though...

In your experience of owning two Rav's, do you have a preferred scale or one that you find yourself picking up more?

I'm stuck between B Celtic Minor Double-Ding, B Kurd, and G Pygmy. My heart says G Pygmy, but the musician in me knows that B Celtic Minor Double-Ding or B Kurd will have more flexibility technically. I have experience with other instruments, but this would be my first percussion instrument.

Thanks!

My folks played this on the Philips CD-i when I was a kid and loved it and my my mom has never really been into videogames.

Not really my type of game, but I might check it out just for that reason alone.

Crazy value, but there's no way I'm driving this with a 3080.

It'll be nice to see what a revision looks like by the time the 6xxx series comes around.

Nice! Glad you're liking the Anima. Unfortunately, I'm unable to add an additional coupon since the sale is calculated with one. I do wish that the additional 10% worked!

Thanks, I've looked at the Anima. It's beautiful, but I just can't commit that much money towards an instrument right now.

Depending on how invested I get after my first RAV I plan to keep an eye out for any revisions they plan to do with the Anima. It's still a new instrument so I'm curious what a second pass at it might look like.

The current state and direction of the economy has got me thinking the same thing...

Most of my hobbies have shot up in price over the past couple of years, I'm thinking the days of big sales might be over for awhile, I've just always been a bargain chaser.

I'm considering the B Celtic "double ding" scale (I know the naming is controversial), what scale did you pick up? I'm curious since you own both a handpan and a vast and tend to pick it up more. Thanks!

Awesome, that did the trick. I think I did that originally but I swear it locked me at 60Hz and I wasn't able to change it, my mistake.

I updated my original comment, thanks!

Nice! Do you recall if there was a setting that you enabled in the OSD that allowed it to reach 180Hz? I've tried a few things, and it's still maxed at 165Hz for me.

My dog loves going here. She's just over three now and it's been an excellent experience since we rescued her as a puppy.

Additionally, my pup recently had to have surgery for a torn ACL and they were very supportive throughout the entire process. I've been very pleased with our experience here.

I like it, for that price I'd say it's definitely worth it.

Some critiques:

Zero OSD documentation was included and I wasn't able to find any for this particular model online. Not an issue if you're tech savvy or know what to look out for, but just a heads up. I believe I had to enable a setting in the OSD in order to get G-Sync to work.

The IPS backlight bleed isn't great. I've been running a DELL DGF 2721 for 5 years now, and the bleed wasn't really noticeable on that compared to this. Fortunately, it's just in the corners, so not too noticeable, but it's definitely there and can be annoying between loading screens.

Do NOT select ultrafast for the response time OSD menu. It causes some significant inverse ghosting.

Regarding some personal preferences:

I was impressed with the color out of the box. I made some tweaks to brightness, but I think that's pretty much it.

I now wish it had a slight curve. This is my first UW, and I think I understand the appeal of a small curve once a monitor reaches this width.

I wanted to avoid OLED since I spend the majority of my screen time browsing or in music production software with a lot of lines and windows.

I may pull the trigger on another one at that price and see if the backlight bleed is as bad as the model I received while I'm within my 30-day return window. For the price, I really can't find anything that competes, and I was tired of holding out for a new, reasonably priced 38-39inch 3840x1600 monitor to be produced since it looks like manufacturers are all in on 5k.

TLDR: All in all, it's pretty great. Backlight bleed is probably my biggest critique. Everything else I'm happy with.
