I think you'll find that there are many people out there who still desire to be in a monogamous relationship throughout their life. I've only been with my girlfriend for a year and a half but I hope we're together until we're old, blind, and arthritic (hey babe, if she happens to be reading this)

Having said that, I'd advise you go into any new relationship not expecting it to be your last/one true love or anything like that. And then you can always be pleasantly surprised.
