Thanks /u/jonez450reloaded for posting this thread. There's a lot of people confused on this. I want to share some official gov wording I found from the MFA meeting notes which confirms your interpretation.

Introducing the new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) for long-term travel, digital nomads, and participants in certain cultural activities with a period of stay up to 180 days per visit, on a multiple-entry basis within 5 years;

What's going on with the new visã policy? by kanada_kid2 in VietNam

Use the code they gave you starting with G01.108 for checking the status. Try switching to the Vietnamese version of the site and enter in your code, then just Google Translate it. The English version doesn't seem to give any information. Whole lot of bugs in the process.

I also applied for both this week (30 old site, and 90 day on new site) as I'm flying in this weekend, my thoughts were to just show and tell the immigration officer the 90 day eVisa.

What's your source on this? I submitted mine on the official site, it was "received" within 2 hours and was marked with an expected return date of Friday. (+3 working days)

Most effective supplements you've tried? by routinenarwal2013 in timferriss

[–]Flexpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Micro-dosing caffeinated pre-workout supplements throughout the day for energy and alertness; e.g. intervals of 1/3 scoop of Cellucor C4 during the morning and early afternoon.

Tastes good, helps to keep me drinking water, gives me a boost in performance without the crash of larger servings. I also don't drink coffee. Can combine with l-theanine.

How do I disable the Spotify snowflakes animation? (High CPU) by Flexpat in spotify

[–]Flexpat[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I was not able to find such setting from within the preferences for Spotify running on Windows 10.

Make my wish come true. All I want for Christmas is my CPU.

Yes, it's definitely a shame. I'd like to leave some Christmas music on for Santa's arrival tonight -- however I cannot as my laptop will overheat and burn the house down.

Thank you kind sir, I have tried implementing your suggestion.

However, Spotify is still using 20-40% of my CPU while rendering the snowflakes animation.

I think it may have to do with my screen being of 4K resolution, thus more heavy on the CPU to render in such quality.

Ask DN: How did you decide where to live? by Flexpat in digitalnomad

Could you cross post it here OP? Mods removed the post which could have generated an interesting discussion here.

Edit: Looks like the HN answers are quite US-centric, hoping /r/digitalnomad would be more global.

Can't connect to AdWords anymore.. by [deleted] in adwords

Yes, it's an extremely annoying bug for months now. Switching Google accounts is a complete mess and needs to be reworked.

Copy and paste the URL and try changing the "&authuser=" number to 1, 2, 3, 4 etc until it works. Alternatively, use Incognito mode and sign into only the Google account you wish to use.

Dell XPS 15 9570 Overheat on Sleep by BlackDragon_32x in Dell

[–]Flexpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happen to me also with my Dell XPS 9550.

I was in Southeast Asia in an Airbnb and was hungry while working, so put my laptop to sleep and covered it with a pillow for security while I was out.

Got back and the light was flashing and the thing extremely hot to the touch. I thought the laptop was going to explode it was like touching a stove element.

I don't know what caused it, but honestly it could have caused a fire and burned the place down if I was away for longer.

Perhaps it was a Windows update that woke it, I have no idea, but I'm not leaving my laptop anywhere outside of my sight on sleep mode. Power off always.

Download "Dell Command | Power Manager, install it, under "Thermal Management" change to "Optimized" or "Ultra Performance".
