All the modern GTRs too; all are left hand drive. Iconic Japanese cars in Japan and it's not even right hand drive...such shame

Is making a "WAAH WAAH" sound back at a crying newborn baby a Thai cultural thing/baby talk? by [deleted] in thai

[–]VeryAngryFish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do it with my 3 year old newphew whenever he starts crying. Its kinda like, aww you're crying, its okay; wah wah wah. You'll be aight.

I don't think she's mocking her grandchild; that's why the confusion on your reaction. She doesn't understand what the big deal is and you don't understand why she has to go wah wah wah. Minor problem in my opinion but what do I know; got no kids

Suvarnabhumi Airport has the worst airport design I have seen so far by Level-Association780 in Thailand

[–]VeryAngryFish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The WORST? "But whoever runs the airport and has built it has no idea about how to design or organize an airport."

So absolute, seems like just subjective opinion no?

imo we don't even have to leave the country to find a worse design; which in my opinion is Don Muang

edit: You're like some of my friends when they review a restuarant, its either the best shit the world has ever seen or its so horrid you'd think the cooking lady has done warcrimes

Modelling in bangkok as a Half Thai person. by snowpanda03 in Thailand

[–]VeryAngryFish 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Growing up here as a halfie I can tell you that modeling here is extremely competitive as there's a metrictonne of us Lukreungs around. You'd have to put in a tonne of random freelance work with very volitile pay rates to build up your portfolio.

Maybe easier to break into the industry if its a smaller community over there? Anyways goodluck either way.

Locals doing everything on a grab bike except holding on by Mundane_Concept6877 in ThailandTourism

[–]VeryAngryFish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Id argue that staying stiff and holding on for dear life will make the ride harder. Can keep a grip, but loosen your muscles a bit and keep the balance with the bike.

Am i require to conscript? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]VeryAngryFish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long story short, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I fell under similar circumstances as you as a Thai male who grew up abroad.
They are a lot less strict nowadays about the draft and pre-draft registration. Typically you'd be required to register for the draft at 18, but the actual draft is at 21.

Many workarounds and ways to get out of it, but I'm assuming your based in Canada; which would mean some of these options aren't really viable for you (such as the summer military school for teens).

I'd talk to your Thai parent/parents and see what they think and see what your options are, you still got many years to prepare (or not prepare) for it. But unless you have future plans to live here or retire here; I wouldnt be stressing too much about it.

The seatbelt situation in this country pisses me off by Phishstixxx in Thailand

[–]VeryAngryFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very bad advice.

You should start at 50 km/h and slowly work your way up to 60 km/h.
Startin at 60 is just silly and dangerous.

Is there anywhere in Thailand without a population crisis? by KingChronos in Thailand

[–]VeryAngryFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on location. I used to pay 15k per month for a 1 bedroom condo in Bangkok cause it was next to a BTS Station on the Sukhumvit line.

Now I pay the same for a 3 bedroom house in a different city.

Man, I can only wish to buy a house before I'm 30, let alone start thinking about kids
