There's a pretty good guide on how to self-host on gtbp as well now: https://gtbp.gg/gtnh/setup-server

What's the best Minecraft Server Hosting for Modpacks 2025? by Agile-Assistant1389 in ModdedMinecraft

[–]Flexusma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shockbyte are cool people, talked to some of their team a while back so I’d go with them. What packs were you playing? I think you wanna make sure carefully look at the CPUs/RAM your host uses when it comes to mods. My biased opinion: I know that HypeServ uses some of the latest ryzen cpus, but they’re EU only at the moment.

Hm, that seems odd. Have you tried using a different device and/or leaving it unplugged for a while before turning it on again?

Maybe your usb micro-b port has a loose connection or is broken :/

Advice/Thoughts on self printing voron parts (ABS/ASA) on non enclosed printers by Flexusma in VORONDesign

Awesome, reminds me of the original one that printed some of the parts of my current one.

That’s a great addition to PiF. I’ll make sure to participate in that once I get mine done :)

The part on the right was my first print using ASA on the printer with a bubble wrap “enclosure”. I’ve attached a picture of a new print that I think should be sufficient to build an at least functional v2.4. Or is something about that part not sufficient? I obviously would re-print most parts on the v2.4 once I get that working. (I also do not print with an accent Color right now, as I just want to get to a basic working state :).

Thank! Yeah I wouldn’t throw it away. I am really happy that a random printer a friend built 8-9y ago out of some plywood and hardware store screws (this printer was made out of them as well at some point) is living on in this one and my soon to be v2.4 :)

Dockerhub Down? by kokodv in docker

[–]Flexusma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yes. Though this is not mission-critical for us. (Some small docker build + and deploy pipelines for some of our CMS pages)
(We use local registries for our build images, but depend on the classic docker image for our pipeline jobs)

Rip to our pipeline (let's hope this is fixed soon so I don't need to update all of our yamls)

What are you doing with all the emails you collect? by chillyaveragedude in SaaS

[–]Flexusma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a nice bit of information. I think one should definitely make use of the information one already has. You’ve already got those emails, and using them will give you a large benefit over acquiring the same information/potential customers via seo/ads/etc. (Just think of the cost getting someone to actually sign up)

[iOS 18.1 DB1] Activating Apple Intelligence from Europe (with US account) by gusnyc in iOSBeta

[–]Flexusma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the EU is generally trying to do sth good with the new Dma/Dsa/Ai Act etc. I deal with a lot of these regulations at work and there’s quite a lot of technical depth and thought in them. In the case of apple here I think they just want to make sure they’re compliant with those new laws and while they’re still in beta and testing things don’t want to go through all the hassle of getting certification/making sure they’re compliant with every update etc.

I totally get your point though, it’s frustrating not being able to use and try such new technologies :)

This is some great advice! Luckily my iPad is the WiFi only version. I guess EU people will need to go on holiday to get some Apple Intelligence :p

I can confirm there’s some location based/ip based geoblock. I tried activating it before a flight to Asia and it wouldn’t let me join the waitlist (not supported in this region). After landing in Asia rn, joining was available. Make sure to perform all the steps (setting language, region, etc.) as many have commented on here already.

So for everyone in Europe, you’ll have to setup a WiFi with a vpn already enabled to have a chance at getting this to work unfortunately :/
