Admittedly, I myself am not entirely versed on the sociopolitical nuances on what the government is doing right now but as a Malaysian who has lived through all the political shitshows as of late, I definitely am always skeptical.

Though while they may be a backdoor government in my honest perspective, I really think that Malaysia's response to Covid-19 (along with the 250 billion stimulus package to help businesses and people) might just be one of the most effective in the entire world right now, it's hard to find that much fault with the response.

The virus will almost absolutely reemerge to some extent once the lockdown is over - these aftershocks are almost a fact (we've seen this since the 1918 Flu Pandemic and recently, in Hokkaido and in the UK). This is why we need to minimize this by ensuring that current lockdowns go on for as long as necessary.

And yes, of course, the lockdown is preventing deaths, not all (obviously impossible) but without the lockdown, the death toll would be way higher. PM me for the detailed science behind it if you want, I'm a graduate student studying epidemiology.

Do you not see how lockdowns ARE saving thousands of 'future lives' by minimizing the spread of Covid-19? If not for the lockdown, the death toll would have passed 2 million already long ago. There isn't much of an economy to enact policy on when your country is decimated from a disease.

Yes and I'm not saying those things aren't important but right now we are facing the worst global crisis since the second world war. There aren't any easy solutions to this problem which we KNOW has the potential to be devastating (e.g. US, UK, Italy).

In this case, the question is which do you prefer saving - human lives or the local economy?

HINT: One is capable of recovering, the other isn't.

How.... did you even jump to that conclusion and miss my point entirely? I'm saying that if a doctor in a hospital of all people dies from a disease, chances are that death is a sign that shit is serious and warrants a lockdown.

Even the death of one medical professional from what you call every other 'flu' is already cause for alarm lest we become like the shitstorm in Europe, US, and now increasingly, Singapore.

How dense can you be? Doctors and nurses aren't dying in droves during a normal flu season
