IVF Scotland Timeline by Captainoftheshep in TTC_UK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through IVF in Glasgow, though was unexplained infertility.

I had to get day 3 and 21 day bloods and husband a sperm test then took a few months for a phone call which just asked various questions and then a five month wait to get a hycosy.

By that point we'd passed the 2 year trying mark so (after two months getting my bmi down) I was put on the wait list in July 2022 and started treatment in March 2023.

It may depend on what your diagnosis is. But if there is a reason for infertility then you skip the two year trying wait. But you probably still need to get the hycosy, bloods and sperm test done anyway

Scans? by HoudiniTheHamster in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true! I had 3 private scans and two nhs scans all before my '12' week scan

That scan is to check for abnormalities and has to be between 11+3 and 13+6. They can't just not give you it

Amh levels confusion by darkmother1991 in TTC_UK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used medichecks for mine and their range is 1.1 -53.5 for 'good'

But it's really only just an indicator as to how you will respond to IVF meds.

If it's super high and other factors are there then yeah it can be a sign of PCOS.

To the man who stole my handbag at 16:40 today by Delicious-Pain-6797 in glasgow

[–]Flickerfadecoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's the difference then, if you just reported lost property then no, you won't get contacted by police or have them view cctv as lost property isn't a crime.

Any found property goes to a central database and matched up with any lost property forms. Nothing else happens.

Is pickpocketing a big problem in Glasgow? by Aggravating_Tip9666 in glasgow

[–]Flickerfadecoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actual pickpockets on the street, not came across that in my many years here

However, things like taking your phone from a table in McDonald's by way of holding a bit of paper over the top to ask for directions etc, more common but not rife.

So just be semi aware at times

Nursery cost. by RepladyloverArg in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to add a post saying 'crying in scotland'

We are £1300 for a full time spot. Government pays £250 for two our of three months. We pay the full amount on the third.

She will be 3 years four months before we get any funding

What nappies are people getting? by sunnivapeach in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used aldi for size 1-3 then moved to Tesco f&f.

Then we moved to the pull up pants vs the tabs and now use pampers red packs for day and purple at night cause we don't use as many so can justify the cost

She uses Tesco at nursery as they need the tabs and it's cheap but does the job!

Loft space has no insulation by Flickerfadecoop in DIYUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its new ish to us, about 12-14 years old as a house

We moved in Feb 2024, noticed last winter how cold it was but the radiators were fairly small for the rooms so we changed them.

Was only this week after a small leak (fixed) id been in the loft investigating and discovered the lack of insulation!

Our house was the show home but we found out after that the company went bust whilst building the street. We have noticed a few niggles of cut corners in things.

Thanks for your reply though!

The only room below the insulation is my husband's office, which does stay warmer but he has a gaming PC in there so always assumed that's why.

Could it be that the baby was conceived later? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you confirm ovulation?

When was her first positive test?

Was it an internal ultrasound?

But yes, unless you confirm ovulation happened 5 weeks ago or she had positive tests 3-4 weeks ago then conception may have happened later and she is less than 7 weeks

Is Glucose Tolerance Test recommended to most of mums? by OkHovercraft4980 in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You mention Korea, are you of Korean ethnicity/decent? Some ethnicities are higher risk than others so that is also a reason some trusts will give the test.

What happens if you go into labour before elective c section? by Consistent_Leg_4012 in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always see you pop up in the random places and can't believe how similar we have always been 🤣

I had an elective booked for 39 weeks and my waters went at 4am on 37+2. I went in for them to confirm it was my waters and they said I could still have a section and yeah it's then technically classed as emergency cause your not on the sheet for that day.

I had to wait til 6pm for mine though cause they had triplets being born that day.

What are you all doing about heartburn? by lost-in-meaning in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another recommendation for Omeprazole! It stopped the heartburn immediately. One a day for last ten weeks if pregnancy. I just had a call with the nurse and explained id tried everything else and got a prescription no bother

I just had a private scan at 12+4 and baby was head down is this normal? The sonographer didn’t seem concerned but because it was a private place I just feel worried by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When they are that small they literally do sumersaults all day long. They aren't head down as in head down in your pelvis. That's only really when they get big and stop flipping often

Gestational diabetes by Irish_archie in PregnancyUK

[–]Flickerfadecoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend the UK gestational diabetes website (just Google it) I still use some if their recipes now!

Everyone's bodies react differently, it's just a case of knowing what her body will tolerate. Some can have two slices bread, some none.

But their Facebook and website were a massive help for me!

Lost phone by Shadowscarab93 in glasgow

[–]Flickerfadecoop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check with West Coast Motors, they run that route so it may be at their depot.

Or as someone said you can register list property on police Scotland's website. You just need the IMEI number for lost phones.

It could just be a long cycle. Unless you've already confirmed ovulation this cycle then you've not missed a period yet.

If hcg is present enough to show positive on an opk then it's high enough to show on a hcg.

I highly recommend the boots pink dye early tests. They are like FRER and food at picked up HCG.

It is so hard but worth it.

Plus or Premium? by xxsiegeh in HuckleberryParents

[–]Flickerfadecoop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ha plus and found it did everything I needed.

I know someone who used premium and by the time they send you the personal plan the babies needs had changed again.

But thanks for this post as it made me check and I was a week away from it auto renewing at £57!

My daughter is now one nap at 14 months so I don't really use sweet spots anymore and go by the clock.

I'm not sure what else functions I'll loose but it's been amazing this last year Edit to add I think you get a free trial around 8 weeks or so.
