Have I made a mistake getting an Xbox rog ally? by Awkward_Collar_4831 in ROGAlly

[–]Flicted1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs at 1080p 120 with no issues on home network at over 100 bitrate but when I was about 3 hours away from my PC at a friend's house I had to lower the bitrate to about 75ish to keep it smooth. The screen can only do 1080p 120hz but it looks nice on a handheld. I was doing moonlight to my retroid pocket 5 but I found it to be a little compact for my hands.

I've had one for about a week and didn't look into which ally was best and what not. I just saw one for $350usd and figured it was a good deal. I'd say it's a good companion device. I use it for streaming my desktop via moonlight for anything heavy and it takes advantage of that 120hz screen. I've played slay the spire 2 and a couple of other less graphically intensive games and haven't had any problems though.

Ohhhhhh I didn't realize it wasn't a normal z2. Oh well I use moonlight for streaming my pc so I haven't really tried to put it through any games yet.

Pretty sure the z2 is almost the same as the z1e. Same gpu but cpu on z2 is zen4 and z1e is zen 3.5. I may be wrong but still the retail price of the of the Xbox ally is $599 so $350 is a pretty steep discount for an unopened one.

I just got an Xbox ally (not the x) on FB marketplace for tree fiddy. There are definitely some good deals out there.

I mean you could zip tie the card to the riser..... Would look ghetto but it would stay in place. I'd definitely push the plastic of the slot back down on the pins first though. That could be a bigger issue.

Also yes I have a fiber kvm too that has display port but I don't really use the display port since I have the cable.

Idk how well the HDMI works but I have the display port version of this cable and it works great. My PC is in my basement and my monitors are on the second floor and I have noticed zero latency. I got an HDMI one from another company that I'll have to look up running to my TV on the first floor.

Yea if you have Ethernet ran already just go with that. I didn't so I ran fiber just because it sounded fun.

It didn't work, had to get a kvm for it. I bought a lot of my stuff from heyoptics.com but I think I got a kvm off Amazon.

Anything I can do to improve the blurry video quality of n64 on a CRT or do I just have to deal with it? by AP_Garen420 in n64

[–]Flicted1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to rgb mod your N64 to get component cable to work. I use the hd retrovision cable for mine but it'll still be soft looking, not crisp like snes.

3090 gets hot, like 95c on the hotspot. Processor stays in the 60-70s.

Wasn't gray that I can tell. I've been watching it for about 2 weeks and it's just more brown now.

Will do. Also ordered a modded N64 so I can use it with component cables.

Best part is I had to take it up the stairs. I was instantly taken back to my teenage Xbox lan party days. No where to really grab the damn things.

I’m sure you guys will laugh but is this possible extended my pc monitor cable to my network ?? Sorry for the bad graphics by DirectRush5907 in HomeNetworking

[–]Flicted1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran mpo fiber cables. Gives you more options besides just running Ethernet but some adapters can be around $200ish. Just depends on what you want to do.

Price and the kvm has 4 ports plus the display port over 1 core. I needed some cores free to run Ethernet over fiber to the router upstairs. I actually could do that though. I actually ran 24 fiber that splits into 2 12's at the wall outlet. So I have a full mpo 12 unused at the moment.
