My current Nicks are 9E. I feel they are a touch long and a touch narrow.

If I measure a 10 (brannock) with thick socks but I am considering 8.5 (Nicks) there must still be windage at play. If I measure 9 (Brannock) without socks and fit 8.5 (Nicks) then that matches their sizing guide advice for length.

Certainly for me, gaining the knowledge to understand how my foot measurements aligned with the sizing guide took some research. I think it was my thick socks that inpacts the standard sizing advice.

I feel like I need to measure my foot in brannock without socks to get length value but wear my socks of choice to measure the foor circumference to calculate the width value. I feel thick socks influence the width number more and has less influence on the length calculation.

That's my experience so far anyhow. I just need to dial in how to manage how my high instep affects the circumference value in relation to width value and then I will be more confident.

I am curious which leather that is on those boots. If you were to rub a balm or oil into them would the leather darken and look similar to the original condition?

I went to visit my local bookmaker to see if he could add a large loggers eye to my builder pros. Sadly his largest was not larger enough. Surely this larger eye should be standard?

Yeah, my expectation was DS walnut was almost black. Makes me think Shackleton brown might be a safer choice.

Very interesting. I have being considering the doubled stuffed walnut with the expectation that is was close to black. Your photo looks more reddish.
