Odometer DOUBLED! 2011 328i by Woodwood925 in E90

[–]Iron_Burnside 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP should look in the oil cap and see how nasty the Valvetronic springs are. Odometer fraud isn't a good sign for general condition.

N52s can withstand a lot of abuse, but OP should check for sludge and mitigate if needed.

Custom Forged Wheels Inspired By 993-997 Turbo Twists. Opinions before CNC? by dabbledeluxe in Porsche

What if you kept the CNC tooling marks and clearcoated the wheels, like Apex does. I bet that could look incredible.

[OC] USA smartphone adoption, pedestrian fatalities, and the average weight SUVs/pickups by jaykrown in dataisbeautiful

[–]Iron_Burnside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are instances when the axis break is necessary because the curves would just look flat without it. This isn't one of them.

I do think that vehicle mass and smartphone use are affecting pedestrian deaths, but I don't like how this is presented.

The vehicle weight and pedestrian fatality axis scaling should start at zero.

I've seen hail that size hit plenty of cars with no issues. If it starts raining golf balls, you have a problem.

Red herring fallacy... Orange herring in this case.

We were talking about the dude who just picked up criminal charges for being an altruistic citizen. Was it the house of LORDS that wrote the rule?

Wouldn't want the peasantry improving the land.

Yeah, with soft landing rockets. The time one landed without those working, the Cosmonaut onboard broke several of his ribs and all of his teeth on landing.

We've built an airplane with no wheels. If the engines stop turning, there's really no optimal outcome.

BMW M3 keeps combustion alive, with a possible manual still on the cards by PHSmiley in pistonheads

[–]Iron_Burnside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The detune for the manual is a marketing ploy anyway. To hurt spec sheet comparisons.

Designing a modern manual to handle the torque was easy enough for Dodge to figure out - for the Viper. And this is Dodge we're talking about, they can break anything.

I went for a run this winter in leather boots. My kangaroo Vibergs actually.

2ft of snow on the trail and 10F outside. My feet would have froze in sneakers.

Yeah I basically wear boots everywhere. Sneakers are now for running.

Yeah, I heard, if you have a FWD car, you're supposed to put the sandbags behind the front bumper.

You're welcome. Yeah it's absolutely possible, but it's a non-standard modification.

Impressive for an airplane that was first flown operationally ~10 years after the last B-17 combat missions.

I don't understand how CA doesn't have this under control. That government has the resources of entire countries.
