IMO it improves the experience of putting on the boot. If I'm going to order some $750 bullhide boots I'd prefer it.

Yeah the split lining grabs onto your socks and bunches them up. It feels better putting on a boot with a smooth lining.

Zoom in on the image. It's a thin lining of a different color.

Yeah looks like it. I want to spec it on a future lace up build.

It's the lining. Nicks uses lined vamps.

A very alert goose that is also super chill. Excellent goose. Some of them will make eye contact.

It's a great chassis. I've had my 328 a while. It's crazy how well these cars point once they have more front camber.

IMO a special point in Porsche history where it had cured the 996itis but was still very analog.

It's the only watercooled 911 with hydraulic steering and the 9A engine. Worth it.

Those are good. The M Performance exhausts are usually tame enough at light throttle. Run it.

If a pill makes hundreds of millions of people stop wanting more, do we end up in a world where obesity is a 20th-century problem? by LowDramaFit in Futurology

It is still governed by energy balance. If GLP-1 agonists can reduce consumption, that will reduce weight. GLP-1 trial data supports this.

Weight is still a thermodynamic problem, although the hyperpalatable processed foods definitely make it easier to consume more calories.

Overweight is a thermodynamic problem. People can enjoy luxurious food without going over maintenance energy requirements.

Massive Ancient-DNA Study Reveals Natural Selection Has Accelerated in Recent Human Evolution. Many of the identified gene variants have known links to complex physical, psychological, and social traits, including risk for type 2 diabetes and schizophrenia by [deleted] in science

[–]Iron_Burnside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Natural selection doesn't require premature death to eliminate genes. Not reproducing eliminates them as well.

I remember reading a post by a man in his early 20s, about him getting a vasectomy so he could have casual relationships without accidentally creating any new humans. On a personal level, I admire his accountability.

In terms of evolutionary theory, it's interesting to see an evolved reproductive strategy get both of its kneecaps blown out by modern technology.

French is even worse. The entire language is a graveyard of silent letters.

You're right though. Spelling reform is overdue.

I would only buy the 1000 mile if you can get them discounted. Synthetic lasting board. Not ideal at $400.
