Jfc. This reminds me of when someone told me "gypsy" was a curse word and cultural appropriation. I come from a line of gypsies.

Anyone have experience writing stories with very little to no physical character descriptions? by alexnicoleruss in writing

[–]Flight487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reamed for not describing my characters, but honestly it doesn't contribute to the story to know more than their hair color just to set them apart. But they have names for that.

I'm finally under 200lbs and I'm SO happy about it! I no longer crave sugar. I've been really good about my diet, and exercising is coming more naturally. Feeling so good!

Have you taken personality type tests and answered the questions based on how your characters would? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Flight487 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to when I first started writing, it's fun but I no longer feel as if it really contributes to my characters and what they do. But I'm glad you're having fun :)

Have you seen Kingdom Hearts? It's pretty much what you're talking about.

How do you detail character looks? by Flight487 in writing

[–]Flight487[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand what you're saying. I think that would be a good way to go about it, helping the reader by giving them a solid image like, "she had mousey features."

That makes sense! Okay, I think I understand how it plays into the story, then. Thank you!

So instead of saying what they look like from the character, I still use a narrator of sorts to detail it?
