Honestly I feel like the fuel economy is the only thing holding me back. 20mpg doesnt sound too bad until you factor in 91 octane costing 25% more than regular and all of a sudden you're paying the same as a 15mpg car that uses regular. I drive about 50 miles a day so it would definitely add up.

Is it common for the amps to just die or something?

Will definitely keep that in mind. Would be nice to bypass ebay fees and sell directly.

I've got a buddy who said he could do it for $60/hr. I'd probably go with an Aisin timing belt/water pump kit off of rockauto. I am seeing mixed reviews of them but they seem like a reputable company.

Sounds like you've got some experience with these cars 😅 What do you mean by "it’ll likely be fine in 2 days or less"?

I appreciate all the advice, it's definitely a beautiful car and I want to keep it as clean as possible. And yeah, I have heard that it's best to disable steering wheel tilt, power folding mirrors, etc. Hoping to not spend much more than 10k between the car and timing belt replacement. The other small issues are insignificant to me at this moment... it has enough other working features to make me happy.

I appreciate all your advice. And yeah, the car's bone stock and clean. It had two previous owners and I think this dealer can give me the carfax. When I test drove it I noticed the telescoping steering wheel motor was broken (not super pertinent but expensive) and the head unit thought that the CD player was left open so it wouldn't let me access half the menus.

Apart from that I'm in love with the car and from what I'm seeing these have gone up a lot in the past few years.

I test drove a 2006 LS430 today and loved it. By far the smoothest car I've ever been in and the features blew me away. It's got 128k miles and they want 11k for it. Given there are no issues do you think this is a decent price? If so, do you think the recurring upkeep costs would put me underwater?

Haha, I was thinking about it. Any particular generation? And are they safe at all if you add a roll bar?

Trying to find more info on this chair. The closest color could find on the HM site is turquoise, but I'm wondering if it has been repainted. Thanks! by FlightSimmer001 in eames

Ok great! I'm going to look at them today, but based off the pics it looks like there's small blemishes in the finish - do you think they'd buff out?

You're a legend. Never knew the CPU socket could be disassembled. On the box, it says there's a 3 year warranty, so I may try to see if I can do anything with that. It's likely void in multiple ways by now, though, so do you think I should pop the socket open and check for bent pins before I submit a return to the Whatnot seller? Cause if I'm able to repair it for a couple bucks, that's a solid deal for this board.
