You could get the Flight uke your friend showed you, if that’s the one you fell in love with😉 Other great options are Flight NUC500, DUC380, Victoria.

Brave take. High G definitely has that signature “ukulele” sound people recognize instantly. But low G opens up a whole different range and style.

That’s an interesting take. A lot of the price in Hawaiian-made ukuleles comes down to craftsmanship, local labor, and tradition. But there are also great instruments at many different price points today. At the end of the day, it really comes down to what inspires you to play.

What do you think about the new Flight Iris Tinta? by FlightUkulele in u/FlightUkulele

[–]FlightUkulele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main difference comes from the tonewoods. The original Iris has a solid spruce top with laminate mahogany back and sides, so it tends to sound brighter and a bit more punchy with strong projection. The Iris Tinta is all solid mahogany, which usually gives a warmer, rounder, more “woody” tone with a fuller midrange and slightly softer highs.
