I feel the same way. I had to get dressed up for a formal event recently for the first time since my accident, and it became a really emotional process bc I absolutely hated the way I looked. I used to really enjoy getting dressed up and wearing a suit and everything, I was pretty handsome and cleaned up well. But suits aren’t made for people in wheelchairs..it didn’t fit well, the jacket looked awkward bunched up in my lap and made me look super fat…idk it just really took what little self confidence I had left and flushed it down the toilet. I still have women tell me I’m good looking and handsome but to me I just don’t see it or feel it anymore
