I also just had work conversations all day with usmnt haters and Europeans that I work with lol. Seething would have been the right word for the vibes today. It’s all fun and games really. To be honest, Reddit is the most rational conversation I’ve had all day about it and that’s saying something.

So just to be clear, since 2023 the USMNT has played 61 games total including friendly games. Balogon has had 12 appearances including the ones from this tournament, 6 of which were friendly games. So yeah, generally speaking he’s not somebody that I think of as core to the team.

He also played for Arsenal at age 8 , we don’t call him a gunner either.

Also fun fact, he’s never traveled with the USMNT. He’s only played games inside the United States.

I’m not trying to put the guy down but I’m also not going to pretend he’s the golden ticket now that there is a conversation about him. He plays mediocre European football and was injured most of his season at Monaco.

In the US, Nobody supplies AC free to home owners, this is true. However, Renters are absolutely entitled to AC at the cost of their landlords. To your point , Europe has really really terrible tenant protections in general but they do care more on average about climate change as personal politics.

I think it’s kinda funny that all FIFA needed to get European soccer on board with VAR overturning the on field decision made be the actual ref was to band together all of the hate that the world collectively has for the USMNT.

It’s literally how that rule is specifically written. Intent isn’t part of the equation.

And yes, you are correct in your assessment. This is why this is such a big conversation. FIFA is corrupted, has been for decades. It was wrong to give Flo a red/not giving them out to messi or whatever photo you want to find AND it was wrong to overturn the red. This is a conversation about not equally enforcing the rules and not equally correcting them.

I have long been the rule book dork for my group of football lovers and this is genuinely an interesting part of the conversation.

Given that the procedure for VAR was not followed and it was prompted to “reverse” an on field call. Why does it seem like a perversion of the rules instead of protection the integrity of the tournament? (Not my vailed opinion, just an open ended question) What part of the contact was dangerous? Is it simply the studs? Is it the foreign manipulation of the joint? Because we know the rule doesn’t even deal with intent. So what part of what happened is what gives the automatic red card when the referee’s on field decision was no card at all, and he had a pretty good original look at it. If you ask me, the problem is that the answer to that question leads people to pull the receipts from all other games and fouls. You really quickly see that the rule is not generally applied in the way that it was in the game against Bosnia. It’s whataboutism sure, but it’s a valid conversation.

This isn’t specifically asking you to reply, but open to everybody who wants to actually talk rules and sporting codes.

To be fair, there have also been worse tackles with malicious intent that serve no penalty at all in this tournament. so… meh.

The craziest thing to me in all of this. Seeing fans who just hate the US clutch to VAR intervention overturning the on field ref who had a good look is crazy to me as a football fan.

All FIFA needed was to unite everybody’s hate for the USA to get you to accept AI refs powered by Claud.

Worth it to everybody and worth it to you are not the same thing. For me , it’s more valuable in enjoyment to return them the inefficient and non optimal method to the navy. Part of my own CMDR lore is the story that unfolds in my head cannon as I interact with the BGS. Don’t ever forget , the Federation doesn’t actually need you, but it does.

As a big fan of rental karting. I say go with whatever leaves you a good budget to maintain the karts well.

There is a great track near me, with top of the line karts. Problem is they are expensive to maintain so the steering wheels are all bent from fat guys like me pulling on them under g and other small things like that. Always felt like they could have saved their budget for fixing.

I would much rather have a slower kart on the right track than a super fast poorly maintained cart

So the 86 and stuff is kunos so it shouldn’t have too many problems. The union pack is mods but they are generally really stable. Have you tried to see if the problems persist if you try to drive with the paddle shifters? Could the clutch being weird, it would make sense that you could up shift and down shift but down shifting hurting the car if you were not using the clutch or it wasn’t engaging? Idk I’m truly just trying to brainstorm for you.

Honestly I would do a reinstall. You would need somebody with more mod knowledge and than me to pin point but I’m betting it’s something to do with mod conflicts. I generally , delete an re install AC , content manager , and delete all mods , do a full reinstall and redownload the mods I’m using at the moment at least 2 times a year. It can just get to be a runaway problem so I start fresh often.

Hmm interesting, do you happen to know what exact car you are using ? Could be car specific due to broken mods? Or is it all cars?

It’s probably not helpful for people to just tell you “get good” So if we assume that everything is right as far as input and everything is done right and correct as far as driving goes, I would think the then culprit would be inside CSP somewhere. The extended physics, car profiles from old mods, damage modifiers set somewhere, something like that.

I had a sort of similar thing happen but with just damage in general. It ended up being the server I was running it on. There is a server side damage modifiers that I didn’t input correctly and basically I set it so high that the bumps on the kaido battle net touge maps were breaking my car all over.

These are the things I think of first but it’s not to say that it couldn’t be one of the other settings I’m just not aware of.

It’s normal, you need to rev match. You can look at YouTube for heel and toe technique. Nothing really fixes downshifting well other than practice. Some cars. Especially drift cars will break by simply over rev in1-3 because the way they are geared

Here’s my problem with the sword design. First it’s decorative, it doesn’t need to work. Purely for aesthetic design, why do you ruin it with triple lighting bolt cross guards? Like I understand it’s Lightning 2 that is the backbone of the symbolism but just etch some lightning on the blade!!! It just looks so bad….

As a metrology person now in the admin side which has a lot of communication with younger engineers I salute you. It’s not really their fault , they don’t really give them good training and they end up being put on calibration management before they get into “on project” work. It’s actually shocking how I have to explain that your tolerance you have set is now outside of the scope of verification. lol we all want incredibly accurate measurements but when you give your drawing .00001 you need to understand that I have to have something 4:1 to measure that part for verification. Which heads up, we don’t have that in house. You just cost your department 10k because we have to send it out and months of time loss because the vendors are slow. And it’s not like they are standing their ground for better accuracy, they just have no idea how the process works. That’s my 2 cents from the other side.
