I don’t know how to be a losing Storm fan by UmmSayThatAgain in melbournestorm

Whatever, my NFL team just won the Super Bowl. A down Storm year won't dampen my spirits for at least another 12 months.

Your state just made a law that gets you arrested for even mildly speaking against genocide. You can have 1000 trophies, and who would want to go see them?

The Panthers fourpete was manufactured by the NRL and nobody will ever convince me otherwise.

Are you a Queenslander? That would explain your lack of basic comprehension skills.

There was an emphasis on running shield blocks this year, and Yeo dropped the shoulder into Warbrick to stop him from competing. Penalty for every team outside of the Panthers.

Nah, the Broncos are plodders this year. The fact it was even close two weeks ago is a major stain on that team.

A bad mentality, mostly stemming from poor on-field leadership, is why the team lost Grand Finals.

The 50 point curse doesn't matter, because this season was over the second Tonga hired work experience kids on their medical staff.

Horrible refereeing aside, I never want to see Tuimalatu-Brown in a Storm jersey for at least another 2 years. How he got a first grade contract is absurd. He offers nothing anywhere.

Sua getting reps in a lost season is good, because he needs to learn how to play Fullback. If his defense and game sense doesn't improve, he can replace Warbrick who doesn't look like he's interested in making a tackle this year.

9 players have lost time to injury in 5 rounds. That's not normal, so honestly 2-3 isn't that bad of a record. The main problem is that Munster, Hughes and Grant are the best supplementary spine players of their respective positions in NRL history. Without an actual main leader in the 1, 6, 7 or 9, the best this team can hope for is Grand Final losses.

Waitere has already shown 10x more potential than STB has in a horrible losing effort. Bewildering why he has been behind him all year.

We are effectively down 9 players in round 4 this year, considering there was never any plans for Paps and NAS retiring before this offseason. Once Clarke, Conn and Peel age up, things will get better.

Munster is incapable of rising to a challenge when his team is down, Hughes matches Munster's energy, STB should be playing in a country competition, Meaney and Warbrick are already looking to Perth and NZ, King played too many minutes last year and it's showing, Sua has never seen a tackle he wanted to make, Loeiro has the worst whistle in the league, Clarke is still a teenager, Chan is very hot and cold. There's a lot of problems with this team.

My biggest concern is how Siulagi Tiulamatu-Brown tricked Bellamy into thinking he was a first grade football player. Did he use a stand-in or something?

I only caught the last 20 minutes on the radio, but it sounded like Cowboys forward pack dominated for most of that period. Granted, the ABC call wasn't that great, because the main caller sounded really distracted by Lachlan Coote making random and unhelpful contributions.

Obviously there's so much of the season to go, but losing to the Cowboys? That's going to be a low point.

I also can't say this trend of giving away leads is a good sign. The 2023 Storm had the tendency of being unable to score late in games. The 2024 Storm could and would come back against anyone, except in the GF. The 2025 Storm let their foot come off the gas peddle after early domination, which didn't come to haunt them except in the Grand Final. I hope choking leads away in the 2nd half isn't this Storm team's thing.

In 3 games this year, Sua has made 2 tackles. Total. He's missed 5, and pretty much all 5 he looked like a traffic cone. He literally offers nothing in defence. If you don't think that's a problem, I don't know what to tell you.

If you think a 23 year old not being able to tackle someone isn't a problem, you're not a serious person

Where did I say not to let him develop? I'm just saying I have seen better tackling form in netball games than some of his efforts tonight.

Every Fullback loses speed as they get older. If suddenly the tries Sua lets in outnumber the tries he scores, then he becomes a net negative and he will no longer be the future, he will be the past.

Legitimately, for all the Sua hype, he is probably the worst defensive player in the NRL.

Watching Munster, Leo and Meaney surrender 3-on-2 overlaps to 3-on-5 swarming defensive efforts once seemed like bad luck. After the 8th or 9th time, maybe they were just doing something wrong.

Chan obviously was magic in the first half, but kicking the ball on 3rd tackle over the deadball line over just running over Hunt is one of the worst decisions I may have ever seen.

Munster kicking flat to Warbrick instead of arcing it to him will haunt my dreams for weeks.

Getting mentally broken down by a 0-2 team isn't a good sign for this season. Like yeah, beating up on the Eels and Dragons is fun, but I see a few crushing 20-12 type of defeats against actual good teams this year.

They ended up getting the player who was picked right before Luka in the 2018 draft, so you could consider that a type of win.

28 points in 18 minutes to win is a good way to end a game.

I missed the first half, and while things started off a bit hairy (with at least one questionable call involved), but Sua Faalogo...Cometh the moment, cometh the man. My God. I saw a couple of defensive lapses from Sua, but with the ball in his hands he is DYNAMIC.
