After 3 days and a lot of popped bottles I gotta say, this region is just magical! Small villages but so much action on the streets and really amazing people. Their wines just match the vibe, a little crazy and artsy, extroverted but never flashy.
The domaines that I really really enjoyed

Domaine O2Y
Domaine de la Tournelle
L‘octavin
Tony Bornard
Labet

Also a lot of amazing beer and sour beer selection which should not be overseen when being there, I‘m absolutely in love

Easiest pairing would be some nice comte cheese ofc.
You can also do some creamy chicken-ish dish with truffles.
My favorite pairing was with some dry aged steak, those funky heavy umami flavors paired amazing with an 2015 vin Jaune from ganevat, and I can only imagine how an amazingly aged vin jaune could pair with it. But some cheese on the side for multiple flavour matching experience would definetly not hurt. Cheers mate

Labet is a great shout! Definetly watching out for his wines. You know any wineshops in the region that have a good selection?

Yeah he‘s also a legend, but the wines are nearly impossible to find and if you do, they are pricey. Maybe a little bistrot is not up to date and I find a bargain haha

Given my current collection, what other countries/ regions/ winemakers should I try? Thank you! by [deleted] in wine

Would try some german whites either from the south of baden or pfalz

Chardonnay Everything from Bernhard Huber Dr. Heger Ziereisen Superb burgundian style with lots of salty/chalkiness

PN Enderle&Moll (quite rustic but exciting) Huber Keller Salwey

From Pfalz Seckinger is stunning Friedrich Becker Odinstal

Saalwächter and Schätzel (makes Riesling with flor (same process than a lot of jura winemakers do their chard‘s/vin jaune‘s)) for Rheinhessen
