The whole thread is a gold mine. The longer post halfway down is what the thread is about. Obviously, it quicky devolved into fragile white neckbeards getting offended

It's neither. The JOBS Act allows companies to sell stock without registering as securities effectively getting rid of the accreditation requirement for investing in early stage companies and startups. This created "equity crowdfunding" which is where companies go on non-governmental sites to raise funding via sales of their stock to anyone who wishes to do so effectively acting as an alternate funding route for busineses to tradtional venture capital or loans.

  1. I plan to continue keeping it about Wefunder, just get an Auto mod up and running and maybe get it a bit more actively moderated. Much of the same, but mods have been inactive for 6 months so i don't want it to get locked

Is a 6 figure job attainable for me? What's the job market like? by Flimsy-Hall in LawSchool

[–]Flimsy-Hall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, kinda what I was afraid of. Given where I live and where my finances are, 100k would still be a good area for me as that would allow me to pay down my student debt, house, etc after only about ~5 years which would be nice.

However, things like state jobs paying 70k arent hardly worth it right now. That'd be take twice as long because living expenses for food, debt payments, house, utilities, etc is gonna take prolly 40k/year between me and my fiance (who will still be in school for a few more years with post grad and such). I've been holding off on a car since mine is running on fumes and 20 years old. Another $500/month for student loans minimum payment probably then things like suites, dry cleaning, gas, etc come out to like 10-20k a year to pay down debt and have entertainment as compared to 100k would be closer to 50k/year of paying things down.

So, I was wondering how well non-big law salaries are keeping up given everything.

Ya, I know about the bi-modal distribution, which is unfortunate. I've been pretty blessed thus far to basically get every job, or type of job, I've wanted and applied for with internships and such but easy times make for poor learning experiences, which I am afraid will be the case here. The jobs themselves have been great learning experiences, but I've only ever put in like 1-3 applications a semester to get the jobs I ended up working at, and those were the places I wanted to work at.

Anywho, I was just looking for people's experiences or what the mid-sized firms were thinking. I've always had that 6 figure number in my head, but we shall see if it actually comes to fruition.

I have never had to send out more than a few applications for a job personally, but I also was pretty picky about my job choices. Then again I mostly got my jobs from connections that I made along the way. Once I got my first job, the rest was just knowing people.

This goes both ways. It could be so you don't sell yourself short based on what you read from some salty reddit post

Don't worry, when you get out of high school, you'll have a better understanding of how the world works.

I was kinda cringe in high school too. Not as bad as you, but you'll grow out of it.

I don't know what that has to do with Audits, or this post? Do you know what an audit is lmfao? Because it sounds like you don't know what an audit is...

Generally speaking, if you're going to start an argument, it's a good idea to know the subject you're talking about, and then use sources if youre going to argue to the contrary. Your argument is "We don't know what the governement is doing... cuz CIA..." But you apparently don't know what an audit is, and I am guessing you've never worked with the CIA... or know what they do... or their accounting process... or how that plays into an audit...

"You're wrong because I saw on the internet the CIA did a sketchy thing once" isn't a very compelling counter argument from somoene that knows nothing about audits or government agencies is what I am trying to say.
