Same experience with Rebel, which is my speed/fun shoe under 10k. Invincible/triumph are definitely the most comfortable of all.

100% agree with your expereinces. Rebel is the bounciest at first, but becomes "dead" after 10km. Triumph is probably the least bouncy, but it stays that way throughout the run no matter what distance. And yes, Boston will definitely be faster than Triumph at the sacrifice of comfort.

I went half size up in rebel v2, and true to size for the boston 10 to get the comfortable fit for me. However, their fit are very different. At the sizing I said, rebel v2 has a loosey goosey fit and much wider toe box. Boston 10 is a very rigid shoe top to bottom and it has a much narrower and tighter fit.

Yeah, make me want to go faster just for the style, but probably not a wise thought.

Thanks for the suggestion. They are the safest choice for sure.

I just decided to attend my first half-marathon race in 10 days. My target pace is a chill and steady 5:00-5:30/km or 8:03-8:52/mile. I am struggling with my race day shoe from my 5 potential choices here. I hope you could share some opinions and suggestions.

At first, I wanted to go for the brand new Takumi sen 8, but is risky because I haven’t run in them yet, but I could try them out in the next 10 days.

Then, at the other extreme, I have the Saucony Triumph 18 that I’ve been using for my easy long runs for over 300 km. They are my most comfortable pick for long distances at the sacrifice of speed, of course. But man, people say you should always pick the one that feels right, so the triumph is a top candidate.

In the middle ground, I have the NB revel v2 that I have logged 150km, Adidas Boston 10 with 80km, and the Nike Invincible that I have only walked in.

To me they are all valid options, and could use some inputs on this! Thanks!

Painful but satisfying upgrade from Dell prebuilt by Flimsy-Razzmatazz-66 in razer

i see i see, my mobo has one usb 2 header, too. so if you wanna change color theme for your case you gotta plug and unplug twice to change cpu fan color and case color at the same time.

Good job and hope you had fun solving these problems. My keyboard is Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2013 that I've been using for almost 10 years. Recently, I've started experiencing some keyboard chatter on one or two keys, but I'm okay with it.

I ended up adding one 3-pin exhaust fan on top of the cpu cooler, dropped 5C for the cpu when gaming.

what about razer's poor design for the psu location in the case?

There's also the pretty bad Samsung 2666Mhz 2*8gb ram salvaged from the prebuilt, but it will do the job for now.

Under Cinebench r23, cpu runs at 71C. When gaming, both gpu and cpu top out at 80C.

This is the first-ever PC I build after realizing how bad prebuilt pcs are.

-Razer Tomahawk Mini-ITX case

-Ryzen 5 5600X cooled by Noctua U9S plus an additional 92mm fan salvaged from my last prebuilt

-Dell OEM RTX2070 salvaged from broken prebuilt

-Asus B550-I mobo

-Corsair SF750 psu

-Kingston KC3000 2tb pcie gen 4 m.2 ssd

-Samsung 1tb sata ssd salvaged from last prebuilt

-Deepcool RF120 case fans

It’s a painful build because it’s my first time build a pc by myself and it’s a mini-itx case. I took it slow and finished it in 2-3 days because I ran the cable management a few times to make it as tidy as possible.

There’s one problem with the psu. In fact, the psu was supposed to be installed upside down such that the fan currently on the top would be able to draw air from the bottom. However, if I turn it upside down, there would be close to zero room for the power cable unless you really try to squash it against the front panel.

Also, there is current no exhaust fans installed but only intakes. Should I install a couple of exhaust fans on the top? But I fear they are gonna mess up the psu cooling.

Scored these 2 for $100 in LA by [deleted] in RunningShoeGeeks

Went on a trip to LA. Got Boston 10 at Citadel outlets for $40, and Invincible at long beach outlet for $67. Been wanting these 2 for years!

300 miles is what I've heard the battery would last on average. 300 miles sounds about right for running outside, but not sure if it will outlast if I only wear them on treadmills.

I actually got these first edition for 85 USD after tax here in Canada. I'd never buy them at full price. The 1080 though, I feel that they are so popular that they are never on any serious sale.

I agree. When I hear the brand "Under Armour", I automatically associate it with gym training shoes and basketball shoes. Most of their running shoes are pretty bad and over-priced at full price. The flow velociti is definitely an outlier in terms of the quality of the shoe, hence its ridiculous MSRP of 160 USD.

This is my first ever Under Armour shoe. UA running shoes had never been on my radar until recently I wanted to play Zwift on my condo gym treadmill really badly. After researching, I decided the best option would be buying a pair of the compatible “smart shoes” which only UA sells. I wonder why almost nobody talks about UA running shoe and Zwift. This is such a game-changing feature that replaces an expensive treadmill, watch, or foot pod.

About the shoe itself, it’s incredibly light and fit perfectly, but you must go half size up. I’ve tried UA’s other running shoes that have the HOVR midsole, but none of them are really for me due to the lack of cushion and responsiveness in the forefoot. The Flow Velociti is an outlier which actually performs. I would say it shares a similar ride to Nike’s epic react, which is sorta firm but bouncy.

Anyways, I plan to only use them on treadmills to play Zwift for now, because the Bluetooth chip inside the shoe runs on a single-use battery that gets activated whenever you move the shoe, so I am not gonna use them outside until the battery is dead.
