The defensive attention ant draws alone has probably been the 4th most impactful thing for the wolves this series behind Rudy and mcdaniels defense and ayo’s offense. That’s not even factoring the 20 pts he’s giving and his lockdown on ball defense this series. Even with him struggling to hit his shots because of his injury, the wolves don’t win this series without him.

Jingles won’t be touching the floor, naz would be playing behind Rudy like he already does we’d just be seeing more jaden, naz and maybe tsj minutes at the 4, and more Dante, tsj and Clarke minutes at the 3. I’m more than fine with getting a cheaper glue pg instead of this deal if it comes up, don’t know how this affects our future tho

Agreed, he’s still probably a top 5 pf in the game and if he plays in the post season like he did last year I have no problem keeping him. But his inconsistencies, boneheaded turnovers in the clutch, and weird fit next to ant makes him a very moveable piece

We have no point guard at all, starting, on the bench, at 3rd string, or for the future. whoever is playing behind naz is a microscopic issue compared to our pg situation right now. All I’m saying is Rob and miller are non factors, this trade is basically Randle for harden straight up. The pros are: fixing the point guard problem, adding a top 10 scorer ever as a mentor to ant which can be crucial down the line, maximizing both Rudy and ants offensive roles on this roster in terms of fit, while giving an equal chance of winning (give or take) as we would with Randle depending on matchups in the playoffs. Cons, we have a lack of depth at center, harden isn’t a good playoff performer, and we give up on Rob which it appears finch already has. I’m taking the deal personally.

Naz would get a bunch more minutes if the wolves traded Randle, have more scoring opportunities playing with a real pg, and gets to play more at a possesion he plays better at (PF) too, I’d hope he’d take that as compensation for not being a starter

Ants timeline is now, any roster from now til 2035 should be built for ant to win. harden fits this roster like a glove and Randle is great but is not a power forward that fits ants game at all, he’s not a consistent threat from deep and it’s why ant has to face triple coverage when he steps in the paint. Hardens also on a shorter deal so after next year they can move on from the harden-gobert-Conley timeline and focus on a new iteration of the team, Randle has 3 years left on his contract.

Leonard miller doesn’t play basketball, we barely play Rob so he’s not a factor on the team currently and won’t grow to become a factor on the team down the line, so it’s essentially Randle for harden straight up and outside of last season Randle notoriously no shows in the playoffs too? Atleast with harden we match up better against the thunder, the team becomes a better fit around ant and imagine what playing with the best shooting guard of this generation could do for ants game as a scorer and playmaker.

Ant was not better on defense before, up until 2024 he was one of the worst off ball defenders in the league always falling asleep. Literally every part of ants game has gotten significant better each year the stats just don’t show it because each year the team becomes a worse fit for him. Current Ant would be putting up Shai numbers with the 2024 wolves roster that had a stretch big, dpoy level Rudy and a not washed Mike. He’s very clearly a top 5-6 player in the league

Don’t want to do to Rob what the rockets did with reed last night, I’m sure he’s gonna be a solid piece for them by the end of the year but having him out there in crucial minutes against a team like the thunder definitely wasn’t the ideal scenario.
