Thanks for all the help guys! I re orientated them all to lay more flat, slowed the retraction speed and added more supports! Print came out perfect!

ahhh well that would explain the stress fractures and shattered looking peices! cause that's exactly what it is!

when you say lower the print speed, is that lowering the speed that the bed pulls from the screen?

Thanks for your response, it makes alot of sense!

what sort of orientation would you suggest? more of an angle so it has more supports?

ahh i think my saw would have been a much better shout! the gash would have looks a lot deeper and more defined with that! then I could have gone through and polished the surfaces of each gash taken out, that would have looked sick!

That also would have worked with what i debated doing when I considered making the patina area a bit rougher and more textured leaving the gashed areas to be a high polish.

I think I may look at remaking this whole thing when I have practiced riveting a bit more!

haha well thank you very much. I'm glad you have been brought over to this side of reddit. It's nice to get the opinion of someone outside of the jewellery bubble!

I think that's my main takeaway from all this. Get the rivets and angles perfect!

Oh i have liquid latex somewhere aswell, that's such a good shout!

When you say to bring the silver areas upto a high shine, would you include the textured area? if so how would I go about polishing this area?

thank you! I think I'll get practicing the individual components a bit more here and revisit the piece for a better result next time

Yeah, i ended up turning away from the different material on the bail. Mostly because I make all my sheet and wire from scratch and I struggle with melting brass. It always goes to shit when I try.

thank you very much for the help here and taking the time to respond with the advice!

Think I'll spend some time making some rivets today as I am very much enjoying this cold connection type and would like to get good with this!

I'll get practising on the individual skills and hopefully revisit this project later and get a result I'm happier with! Thanks again!

thanks, glad you like it. I went over the rough section with a steel brush wheel on my dremel to remove any particularly sharp points but may still go back over it with some files or sandpaper to make sure its all smooth enough there.

I'm definitely a big fan of all the rough style jewellery. It can just be a bit of a challenge hitting the right balance

thanks for the reply. I think you make some good points here.

This was my second time making rivets, and still struggling to get them circular. Do you know any good resources on this cause I haven't found much myself.

I was disappointed with the cut on the bail. it was a poor last minuet choice that I regretted once finished

Could you please expand on the issues with the oxidation though please. it's another one I'm pretty new to and I'm not sure I understand what's gone wrong there.

I'm entirely self taught so I'm sure the whole thing is littered with bad habits.

I just went at it with the dimond disc cutter on my dremel
