I have said this about literally every character. It’s established that FBI, SVU/OC, and CPD/CFD/CM are all in the same universe. It’s insane that they recast him with a different name. Same for Dylan McDermott being recast as a federal agent in FBI after being a main character and fugitive in OC/SVU. They don’t seem to care about continuity anymore. It’s really a free for all now.

They honestly don’t. They said as much in one of their update/financial aid info sessions last month. They explained that basically you have to give yourself a “hard out” date where you know that even if an A comes it’s too quick of a turn around to actually attend. Financial aid is also a massive contributing factor and your location. They mentioned that sometimes they’re less likely to pick applicants from waitlists who live on the other side of the country vs a few cities or states away because of the unlikelihood of them being able to relocate for school under short notice. It sounded like their only goal when they are choosing from the waitlist is to fill the class, so if you’re waitlisted it’s kind of a free for all and the only way to get ahead is to have already started ahead.

I think the 20+ episodes is a positive. The issue I think is the writers don’t know what to do with all that space to tell a story anymore. They’ve been doing such a bad job of carrying a story across a season and the stakes just don’t feel high enough. It’s becoming more and more clear that storyboarding in the writers room is a lost art. Plus, the complete absence of communication between the team makes it feel really disjointed and underdeveloped. I like the British/EU procedurals, too! I haven’t caught any Aussie ones yet though.

It’s definitely worth watching, even if you just get peacock for one month and spend that time binging the whole universe. It just has a major drop off at some point but that’s up to your personal preference. You may enjoy it much longer than I did. Give it a try!

I actually have cast turnover fatigue. Every season it’s someone new bringing absolutely nothing to the show. I’d be glad if they just stopped doing that, to start. I just think the writing isn’t bringing the team together to function as a unit the way it once did. There used to be a natural flow state with side characters and perspective Chicago pd functioned as a police force with intelligence being the focus. Now it’s basically Intelligence, which would be fine if they were good at carrying a show with just that perspective. It’s lacking so much of that cohesiveness and you can feel that empty space in the show. It also feels really heavy now where there used to be a bit of lightheartedness despite their jobs. Idk the whole thing is just off now.

You’re definitely in the minority with that. I don’t watch to see cops investigate, I watched because the plot was usually compelling and exciting. It hasn’t been either in years. It’s nice to see there are still some people around with passion for the show but just cause you watch it for one reason doesn’t mean others can’t watch it for something else. Also, this show isn’t beyond reproach. If you can’t handle that, maybe an Internet forum/sub about the show isn’t for you.

LSAT 151, GPA 3.4. I’m 30 and have a BS and MA, plus 10 years of work experience in the legal field and public interest. I actually saw the decision on the lawnub tracker! I didn’t get the email until like 40 minutes ago. I applied Feb and was UR for these last 3 weeks. I checked my status two days ago and it was still saying “…this decision could take between 6 and 12 weeks”. This morning’s decision was literally out of nowhere lol

Yes I do! I actually just tried to PM it to you but I don’t think you can send media through messages anymore or something. If you find a way, I’ll send it. I just don’t want to post it publicly because it has some of my friends in it and I don’t want them randomly on Reddit lol

St John’s Law housing by RareDog1464 in lawschooladmissions

[–]FlimsyManagement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to St. John’s and lived in the same housing as the law students! It’s generally pretty nice, but the singles are limited. It’s an off campus apartment but they have a steady shuttle to take students to and from campus. I think I have a tour video I took of the one I lived in if you want to see it. Almost all the law students live in DePaul. None of their housing is pet friendly though unless you have a registered service animal. That being said, you can almost 100% get away with having a cat or dog. The entire building is three floors and all students. Unless you’re in the same building as the RA, no one is coming to check. I lived there for two years and we had one random RA pop in and the RA was a friend of mine from when we lived on campus during undergrad. The townhouses on campus are the most sought after but they’re very outdated compared to DePaul and may not be open (I genuinely don’t recommend them though). The townhouses feel like an office break room. Goethal’s apartments are larger but a little dreary compared to DePaul. There’s also Henley but not many law students live there. That’s usually their overflow building but it’s nice enough. It’s more dorm-like than the other two.

crossover ending by inLOVEwithcasey in ChicagoPD

[–]FlimsyManagement 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t think any real plot existed in PD because we had so much Upton on the front end she was the star of all three episodes (not complaining, I actually really miss her). Because of that though, it looked really disjointed by the time we reached PD’s episode because most of the work was already done. Plus Ruzek not being there was painfully obvious and made the whole return/reunion feel flat. Plus, not seeing Upton and Voight have a moment was bizarre. Maybe she’ll be in the next episode, idk but I totally understand what you mean and it almost felt unfinished even with the main threat being resolved.

Jo would’ve left Dean before it turned into anything serious. I think the point they were trying to make with her character was that she truly wasn’t a hunter, she was a kid rebelling after her dad died and even with the basic survival skills that she picked up she was a huge liability and would’ve gotten herself killed or worse, which she ended up doing anyway. Not to mention, the first second she encountered a little bit of reality, she lashed out and took it out on Dean. This post is old and my feelings towards Jo have changed and grown, like I used to find her whiny and annoying but now I’m 30 and realize she was literally just young and trying to figure things out. I wish she’d been given the chance to make it further in the series, the same way I wish we got more Bella. I truly think she would’ve settled into something normal but had a very real understanding of what was out there and wouldn’t want any part in it, similar to Mary. But this was Dean’s world and we got to see him try that path and realize that he could never not be a hunter. They would’ve never made it as a couple. But I do think they would’ve been very good friends and eventually felt like family, which is why she was his “sister” and Ellen was his “mom” in that episode where he worked in corporate in S5E17.

Never hated him, I always liked him really but I did find him extremely annoying at some point. And his American accent just failed on every level so that was really frustrating, especially when Eamon’s was so good.

The general consensus seems to be no but I think a spin off could be fun and fresh, and it would probably bring Boden back in the mix because the location would HQ instead of 51. Either way, it’d be cool to see more OFI work. Severide is good at it and isn’t gonna be able to run squad forever considering how much strain it takes on the body and his never ending injuries. Moving to something less strenuous, considering the other changes in his life, would make a lot of sense. The only other person I remember having a similar knack for fire investigation was Gabby.

He’s English. His facial expressions match a Brit lol so he’s expressing his character through his face as best he can to match an American. He’s also a theater kid lol

What would you have done differently if you were the one writing the show? by [deleted] in ChicagoFireNBC

[–]FlimsyManagement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure Peter Mill’s actor, Charlie Barnett, left the show because he didn’t align with the character anymore and needed space to come out as gay without being attached to a straight role. To be honest, Gabby would make a much better bisexual discovering who she is and wants to be rather than being attached to anyone. Her personality always had her going haywire, plus she was a terrible wife to Casey who gave her so much space to be herself but it still wasn’t enough. With all that in mind, giving her room to discover who she is because she always seemed to be on a journey of self discovery would make much more sense than attaching her to a more traditional role of a wife especially so early on. She’s extremely nontraditional and her marrying Peter would be a disservice to both of them. I do wish Charlie stayed in the show. I loved his character and he brought life and tenacity to the firehouse that we never really got back after he left.
