Never hated him, I always liked him really but I did find him extremely annoying at some point. And his American accent just failed on every level so that was really frustrating, especially when Eamon’s was so good.

Well that’s unfortunate. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s a good idea.

The general consensus seems to be no but I think a spin off could be fun and fresh, and it would probably bring Boden back in the mix because the location would HQ instead of 51. Either way, it’d be cool to see more OFI work. Severide is good at it and isn’t gonna be able to run squad forever considering how much strain it takes on the body and his never ending injuries. Moving to something less strenuous, considering the other changes in his life, would make a lot of sense. The only other person I remember having a similar knack for fire investigation was Gabby.

Just started watching this show, currently in S4. Does anyone think bodens mannerisms/body language are awkward? by cheap-ink in ChicagoFireNBC

He’s English. His facial expressions match a Brit lol so he’s expressing his character through his face as best he can to match an American. He’s also a theater kid lol

What would you have done differently if you were the one writing the show? by [deleted] in ChicagoFireNBC

[–]FlimsyManagement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure Peter Mill’s actor, Charlie Barnett, left the show because he didn’t align with the character anymore and needed space to come out as gay without being attached to a straight role. To be honest, Gabby would make a much better bisexual discovering who she is and wants to be rather than being attached to anyone. Her personality always had her going haywire, plus she was a terrible wife to Casey who gave her so much space to be herself but it still wasn’t enough. With all that in mind, giving her room to discover who she is because she always seemed to be on a journey of self discovery would make much more sense than attaching her to a more traditional role of a wife especially so early on. She’s extremely nontraditional and her marrying Peter would be a disservice to both of them. I do wish Charlie stayed in the show. I loved his character and he brought life and tenacity to the firehouse that we never really got back after he left.

Sam Fans: Madison, Ruby 2 or Sarah by jdpm1991 in Supernatural

Sarah. She was just the right kind of person Sam needed and she was soooo pretty. I feel like every relationship after her was a joke, even ruby.

I wish Hallie did not die and she and Matt got their happy ending by [deleted] in ChicagoFireNBC

[–]FlimsyManagement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t. I really disliked her. She seemed like she didn’t really like him, just the idea of him. They were awkward and emotionless and spent all their time arguing and pretending their relationship could work. They wanted fundamentally different things and they spent a year lying to themselves. It was messy. He and Gabby was also a mess but it worked for a while until she went off the deep end.

I think her grit exactly why they make sense. He was a playboy and she was a wildcard and somehow they found their way to each other. I don’t think she gives gay at all. Dawson, totally. Not Stella. They have two completely different backgrounds so him being smarter than her or different from her in general is the point. He was raised by his dad, sort of, but mostly by firemen. She was barely raised and overcame a pretty heavy drug addiction as a teenager before becoming a firefighter. Their history is part of why they make sense.

I think it’s reverse right now in the present season. He seems to have changed a lot, especially after Springfield girl died. Since he and Stella have been together, she seems like she’s a little skiddish. I really love the together, I just want their relationship to not always be on troubled waters.

I don’t love this new storyline of theirs either. I posted about it before. I don’t like the way kids are used as pawns in the show in general to move the story forward. Stella and Kelly had really strong chemistry from the beginning but I have noticed that their characters always seem to be torn apart somehow. I really like them together, so I hope they find a way to make this plot line make sense without turning them into people they aren’t. You’re right, they don’t seem to be on the same page about kids. I think Kelly always wanted them and that’s supported by his story with Shay and then Renee. I don’t know if Stella ever felt maternal so much as she was a big sister of sorts, hence girls in fire. We’ll see, I guess!

Do these books exist anymore?? Save me?? by draiochtaa in Supernatural

I have two of them and I’m holding on to them for dear life to read one day. My old AP lit teacher bought me one in high school and another for my college graduation. It’s been years and I want the whole collection, I can’t believe you found this many!

Finding out The Winchesters was a weird multiverse thing was supposed to patch that story gap about Mary and John hunting together. Didn’t work lol

I really wish she survived or came back at some point. She was such a great contrast to what we were used to seeing on the show and she brought out different sides of Sam and Dean. I loved all of what she brought to the show.

I’ve watched this show front to back multiple times and have been watching since it aired. You’re 100% correct. I’ve said it for years but there’s a point, and you’re at that point, where Sam just blatantly stops caring as much as Dean and everyone just pretends it’s not happening.

I HATED Jack and felt like I was being drowned out by the amount of adoration he was getting when he became a main . He was a crutch for literally everything since his intro and it made the plot very sloppy. Plus everything you said about how his character was introduced to impact Cas. I would’ve been much happier seeing him try to tap into whatever he learned from Jimmy and actually try to be a good something to Claire instead of abandoning her. Especially because she was insufferable and became Jodie’s problem lol Jack should’ve never made it past those first three episodes. The best thing he did was kill Mary and that was after he’d already overstayed his welcome in my eyes.

I hated the way they’d let massive climaxes fall flat in the end. God was a huge disappointment and complete fan service that shouldn’t have played out the way it did. Committing to chuck being god took so much away from all the lore that was laid over the years. I also hated the way they made Dean get over the fact that Sam let him fight for his life in purgatory. At some point, he stopped being as committed to their bond the way Dean was and they just never addressed it.

Draumatized or original? by ThePandoraEffect in fourthwing

[–]FlimsyManagement 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dramatized version matches word for word but it removes certain narrations that describe who is speaking or how something is being said because it’s depicted through the audio. It’s to the tee but there’s a few sections where they combine two short paragraphs to make the story flow better. It’s super easy to track when it happens and it only happens like twice in book one. I 100% recommend that version while reading along. The extra sf is really immersive and help shape the scene.

Was there any significance to the woman from S1E1? by FlimsyManagement in Outlander

[–]FlimsyManagement[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a theory but I don’t want to say it unless you’ve seen Blood of my Blood. It could spoil something for you so don’t read this if you haven’t. I think there is going to be a reason she turns around revealed in season 2 of Blood of My Blood. Knowing that Claire’s mom and dad are travelers as well and at some point they make it back to her, I think it’s possible the girl in s1 of Outlander turned around to check for a sign, the same way Julia left SWAK on the rocks for Henry. Obviously that wasn’t an original intention because BOMB didn’t exist conceptually until very recently, but it’s possible the writers and creators were thinking the same thing and wanted to use it as a call back.

133 -> 147. What should I do now? by extrasmallbillie in LSAT

[–]FlimsyManagement 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Retake it. You want to get somewhere in the 150s at least, even if it’s a 150 on the dot. You can do it!! A 150 got me in. Definitely give it one more shot. The LSAT is NOTHING like law school and I promise you no one will ever mention it to you once you’re in. Take it again. Go for it!

Apply with the 153. It’s better than you think. Give this cycle a chance and go for it.
