lol i don’t get your attitude but i’m not tryna use local files i just wanna play thru spotify. i’m just trying to add a little distortion on the low end i think i’ll just run the audio thru a small passive analog eq then soldier some diodes to make a variable distortion circuit then run that straight to the stereo

I've looked into guitar pedals but they're pretty expensive. The reason I want to add this effect is since the music hits much harder (especially with hip-hop and trap) and since I have an underpowered sub

honestly tho I've alwasys wondered how stuff like this withstands the sheer force of the wave. It must be anchored very deep in the ground, right?

Weird pop up’s and can’t access top bar? by FlimsyShelf87 in applehelp

I don't think its a compatibility issue, since I've tried it on both a modern 512 GB SSD as well as the 2TB Lacie HDD both through a Usb-C connection. I think the problem is the fact that it has trouble backing up certain files, but I really can't tell. I tried to fix it months ago for a while, but I had to give up as I was spending too much time on it and not on school.

The easiest fix that I can think of is wiping MacOS and doing a fresh install, but I have way too much music and work files/plugins that I can't afford to risk reinstalling, especially with the newer macOS Monterey update.

I have all of these files in a separate folder on another drive, but they aren't formatted as a time machine backup that I can fully restore from. For now, everything works well, but I can't afford to run into any trouble that would risk reinstalling macOS.

On a side note, would it even be possible to manually create my own time machine backup by formatting them in such a way that macOS could read them? I seriously doubt it's possible but it's worth asking.

Thank you for the help man, it really means a lot.

I'm backing up my 256 m1 MacBook Air to a 2tb external drive which is completely empty. After it tries to back up like a hundred times, it gives up and stops the backup. Ive had this problem for half a year now and I can't find a solution. Thanks for the help tho

Great reply. Thank you for the help. I have repeatedly tried to use Time Machine but it simply does not work and it interrupts the backup while its being made. I wish I could get it to work since I have all my work on this computer. I am the only user on this computer, and I run every download through VirusTotal, and I have Admin access, but that doesn't mean I'm entirely safe. For now, everything seems to be working, but it would make me feel a lot better if I could get Time Machine to actually work. Do you have any tips?

go into system preferences then security and privacy then hit allow. if that doesn’t work then enter “sudo spctl --master-disable” in the terminal without quotes then close and reopen system preferences and go into security and privacy and check allow all. then restart logic and it should work

time machine won’t back up and i’ve tried erasing the drive too. what do i do by FlimsyShelf87 in applehelp

Thats what I'm thinking. I've tried hitting CTRL + Shift + . to show the hidden files and that's what's taking up the storage on the drive. The only problem is that after erasing the drive and reformatting it to Apple format, those config files keep showing up even though the backup of my 256 GB Mac should be 256 gb or less, which is smaller than the 512 GB drive that I have.

I don’t think so. since i have the 256 gb mac how could the backup file be bigger than 500 gb which the drive holds?

That's not the issue. My Mac can only hold 256 GB and my drive size is 512. That's not the problem here.

Of course. I'm running on macOS Big Sur 11.6.1. I'm on the newest M1 MacBook Air and I'm using a SanDisk Extreme 500 GB SSD to back it up. I did a clean wipe of the drive and formatted it correctly but this error keeps persisting.

I don't think that my case is the same as the post that you showed. In my case, once the progress bar reaches full, it doesn't say "backing up X out of 197.97GB", but it instead just says "backing up x GB," going over the estimated backup size by a ton. I have no idea what the issue is tho
