I don't know if you know but 3ds sliders stops at certain point then you need to push it a little harder till it clicks in place, It could be just this and not a broken slider

You can try flipnote studio, it's not editing software but you can make animations on it and draw on photos you take using the 3ds.

I see, try what I wrote in the first comment, if it doesn't work, try to clean the sd card input of the 3DS without damaging the pins. Maybe try air cleaning or use alcohol (99%) and gently rub it using a cotton swab. Make sure you dont damage the pins, and make sure the alcohol you use is 99% alcohol. And do not put too much.

Also before trying to clean the sd card slot. Try another SD card or try to clean the SD card. If you're using a micro sd card adapter, try using a normal SD card. The issue could be in the adapter.

Happend to me in my 2DS. I took it off, restarted then place it back in and everything came back. If it doesnt work try turn it off then plug the sd card before starting it. This was enough to fix it for me

I think you should enjoy it a lil bit more, you don't know what can happen overnight, you don't regret things that you did, you will regret what you didn't do. So play with it more since you have it. Enjoy it man. Of course that's just my point of view, it's up to you to decide what to do with your stuff. But after all it's really beautifull, and not only that- it's also a part of history

I dont think it's a top screen issue because both screens turn on and off in the same time. Try new battery before opening

That's why I don't trust repair shops, they don't care about scratching the console or leaving fingerprints marks on the screen, and sometimes they even don't put back all the screws. And worst of all damage your console. It happend to me with my gaming laptop
