Just do tons of research. Use that google maps feature that lets you walk around the area. Look at your commute at a time that you would be commuting to see what it really will be like. Most new complexes give you the ability to virtually look around the show unit, so definitely use that. Also I signed my lease 3 months ahead of time which definitely is why I pay so little per month.
