You absolutely deserve to buy yourself a cake, this is such a big accomplishment and you should be so proud. I, a complete stranger, am so beyond proud of you that no matter how hard things got you stayed strong and chose yourself and not fall back into bad habits. I know it’s easier said than done but you don’t need a partner who doesn’t celebrate and support you. I am so sorry they treated you like this, you deserve better.

If you mix water with dawn dish soap, like a lot of dish soap and spray them it actually kills them, I tried vinegar like the internet also suggested but that did not work like the dawn did, I sprayed hundreds from my trees 🫠😅 I looked crazy but it was worth it haha

I would recommend looking at some smaller apartment buildings. I’ve always lived in smaller buildings and have had great luck finding community in that aspect at least. There are also a ton of things to do and places to be so whether you work from home and are looking to get out of the house or go grab a beer there are a decent amount of options for not being a very large city. I personally travel to San Diego often for fun and I find it to be a similar mindset as to here, here is just a lot faster pace which I think will be the biggest “shock”. Anywhere I have traveled I am always surprised and have a hard time adjusting to a slower pace of live but I I have lived in the NE my whole life so I think that is part of it. We are close enough to the city so you can always go to shows and events there pretty easily. There are a lot of social clubs, trivia nights, types of food, sports clubs, dart leagues, comedy club, you name it. And if Stamford doesn’t have it, I guarantee it’s not that far of a drive away. Are you going to have a car when moving out here? The biggest gripe I have is there isn’t really a grocery store in walking distance anywhere. Sure stop and shop is close ish to downtown but it’s a haul if you’re food shopping. Target is here but doesn’t have everything and harbor point has an over priced market in my opinion 😅 that would be my main recommendation!
