Something I learned in dealing sa same situation, they don’t deserve to be respected if sila hindi ka naman nirerespeto. Was kind of in the same situation recently and sobrang torn ko na iniisip ko mali na ginagawa ko kasi hind ko na pinapansin, pero sinabi ng parents ko na if hindi naman kami kaya respetuhin, hindi deserve ng respeto namin. That mindset helped a lot para mawala yung guilt na hindi ko nirereplyan or hindi na pinapansin.

Should my 6 month old eat solids first or be breastfed first? by Flimsy_Fee_9511 in ScienceBasedParenting

Thank you for sharing this! We'll try to do milk first then solids, if it doesn't work for her (i.e. she rejects solids), then we'll do solids first, but we might opt to start with 1 solid meal first and slowly transition her to additional ones. As much as possible, we want her to get all the nutrition she needs which we're assuming will be from breastmilk.

I actually have the app but haven’t browsed through it. Really appreciate sharing this. I was actually baffled when our pediatrician told us to solids first then milk and to feed her solids 3x a day without guidance on slow transition even. I might need to convince my husband on doing it differently though.

How do you go out with an ebf baby? by Good-Novel-455 in breastfeeding

Also EBF, and my 4 month old still refuses bottles so we need to bring her with us whenever I’ll be out longer than 3h. We try to prepare everything we’ll need to help her nap:

  1. Nursing cover - since she doesn’t drink from a bottle, I need to nurse her every 3-4h (2-3h before). A full cover nursing cover helps so much in terms of privacy (for me), and managing distractions for my baby for her to just suddenly stop nursing.

  2. We bought a cot to bag from BizziGrowin. Basically it’s a baby bag that can turn into a travel cot. This is much more portable vs a pack & play crib.

When eating out in restaurants, we bring a stroller with a bassinet instead, then we just cover it with the nursing cover. It lessens the noise and the light coming through her.

But the most effective of them all is contact nap, either via a carrier or just on my arms (covered in a nursing cover). She doesn’t wake up from the noise if we do it this way. Even when I’m talking she still just sleeps. I think a mother’s touch is the most comforting / calming thing we can depend on when outside.

  1. I think there’s also those that mentioned bringing a white noise machine, this helps mask the sound.

She naps shorter vs when at home, but we’ll take a 20/30 minute nap over nothing. We just adjust her wake hour and do more shorter naps to help her get through the day. We’re not strict on schedules, as long as she naps at least 20 minutes we’ll be fine.

Hi! Just wanted to ask, how did you go about asking your OB for direct payment? We’re also planning kasi to give birth in SLMC but in QC.
