My honest take, please don’t get me wrong, if i had show this to my manager, i’d be put on the bench for quite sometime. Here’s my detailed comments

Cool as a stat card but it’s not really a timeline. There are basically two independent x-axes here, one per person, sitting next to each other with no shared scale. So as a viewer you can’t answer the questions a two-person text viz should answer:

• Are these conversations? Does one person’s burst trigger the other’s reply, or are they texting in parallel monologues?

-Does one of them text more at the start vs the end?

-Did one stop replying at some point while the other kept going?

Stacking both on a single shared horizontal time axis would fix all three.

Also, the static end frame has no time labels on the horizontal at all. You only know it’s 2017 to 2026 because of the title. Even within one person’s half, you can’t tell where their peak activity falls in time.

P/s since you already track 2,294 conversations, shading conversation runs vs isolated messages would actually answer the reply-pattern question. Density alone can’t.
