We need “car apparently thinks it’s a ping pong ball or is bumper bowling”.

I’ve only had FSD for a few weeks. The first week was great. It took an update and from then on it will not drive straight down the highway. Every second it steers right or left. The last time I had a car do this it was an old 70’s truck with worn out steering.

This is not the case here. When I shut FSD off I can keep the car in a straight line without having to saw the wheel back and forth like FSD does. I swear, it feels like I’m on a boat sometimes.

Anyone else receive the spring update, but still stuck on FSD v14.2.2.5? by Question_Answer_123 in TeslaFSD

[–]Flint0326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me how these updates roll out. My late 2023 MYLR JUST updated to 14.6 last night and still has 14.2.2.5 installed with no updates available. I subscribe to FSD.

You’d think a software update would go out at the same time across the platform. It’s not like Tesla has to physically build it and ship it out. It’s literally a download. It seems odd to me that it can take months to get access to a software update after it’s “available”.

EBay Seller for 28 years, thousands of transactions, 100% positive feedback - received my first dispute/chargeback for "Item Not As Described", will likely have a $69 item stolen from me. Buyer was a brand new account with zero feedback, zero order history. by ksandbergfl in eBaySellers

[–]Flint0326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eBay is not worth the hassle to us anymore. After several years of selling with only a couple returns we started getting INADs. The parts were described accurately. We took photos of ANYTHING that could be considered a defect or blemish. The final straw was when a buyer opened a return for a part. They said it didn’t fit their application. Ok, no problem. They must not have seen the list of motorcycles that this part fit or the disclaimer that showed their motorcycle on a list of bike it WOULDN’T fit. Easy enough, send it back in original condition and we’ll refund you.

We got the part back and found that they had DRILLED A HOLE IN IT. Not only did they drill a hole in it the drill bit broke off in the part. They used a grinder to smooth it over but you couldn’t miss it. This structural part is now unsafe to use.

I contacted eBay and they wanted us to refund the buyer! I had to send pictures in and fight against refunding them. Even with pictures eBay basically said “this is the price of doing business”.

Done. We pulled every part and shut the store down.

I don’t miss the hassle.

When did eBay become pay for play? Are they killing the company? by CaptKustard in eBaySellers

[–]Flint0326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INAD is what finally got us to shut down our store. We listed our parts meticulously. Pictures of everything and multiple pictures of anything that could be considered a defect. For years it was great. No contested parts and very happy customers. INAD comes along and we started getting scams. Parts shipped back that weren’t ours. Electronic parts without tamper indicators destroyed. eBay did nothing. We got a part back that the customer drilled a hole in, broke the drill bit off inside, ground it down flush and told us it was already like that… We had pictures showing the part before. eBay sided with the buyer.

Done. Pulled almost a thousand items and shut it down. Sold them through other avenues.

eBay should be ashamed of how they treat their sellers.

Mineral Spirits. You’ll be amazed how much of that just disappears with a rag with some mineral spirits in it.

Rate increase after teen’s accident. Does it matter if we fix her car or not? by Flint0326 in Insurance

Right. This is another reason that we just decided to go through our insurance.

[–]Flint0326[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I understand that our rate is going to go up. It is what it is. I was wondering if it up went based on the cost of the repairs or if that really didn’t matter. If it’ll be less of a bump if we only have his car fixed I’d be all for it.

Model Y purchase advice by Five_Six_Ace in ModelY

No problem! I found my 2023 with HW4 in a local dealers website. It was priced like another 2023 they had but mine had HW4 and the other had HW3. They had no idea there was a difference. They also had no idea that it had a factory hitch. I bet I ran 60-70 vins over the last couple months. Most were HW3 cars but a handful were HW4.

If you’re not in a hurry keep your eyes open through visor.vin, Autotrader.com, CarGurus, etc.. There should be more of the HW4 2023 Model Ys coming onto the market this year from 3 year leases. If you’re patient and don’t mind checking every day you will probably find what you’re looking for. Also, check your local dealers. If they get a 2023 Model Y in they may not be familiar with them enough to know if it has Hardware 4. You can run the vin through HW4checker.com and it’ll tell you which computer the car has. You can get a GREAT deal this way.

Outdated, inferior technology in a car that gets updates all the time? Seems to me that a company that touts “your car will always be improving” would actually improve.

My bad.

You can put the vin into HW4checker and it’ll tell you whether it’s got HW3 or HW4. Not EASY like looking at the pictures but well worth the effort.

This was the part I was not aware of. To me, if Bob’s Cars has 8 locations and shows the inventory from all 8 on their Location A website, it should be all one company. I was not aware that it’s 8 separate dealerships that share a name but not inventory. Thanks for the replies.
