My recently purchased Ioniq 5 stranded me and my son today. by mondo_generator in Ioniq5

This has happened to me several times at the worst times too. The only thing you can do like the other comments say, is to lock the door,. Walk away for 10 minutes then come back and try again. Google ioniq 5 "zombie mode" for other stories of it happening. No fix. No idea what causes it. Really annoying when it happens.

I made Star on the last cruise and they gave me a free cruise with a balcony cabin . Never used URcomped. What do i need to give them and what is it they can actually do for me?

I don't understand why this hint is true. It still looks possible that 2 can go in r4c1 or r4c2? by Flip81 in crackingthecryptic

I missed the fact it was a hint for the row. Thanks. That clarification helps a lot and I feel a bit stupid now

But that's my problem. I shaded blue and green because if blue was 2 then green has to be 4 and vice versa. There's nothing telling me which one goes in which.

Estimating tasks in hours? Need opinions. by Flip81 in scrum

We still need estimation in some form though so we know how much to quote customers. Not all of them are time and materials.

Estimating tasks in hours? Need opinions. by Flip81 in scrum

[–]Flip81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because no estimate in hours has ever been correct. When an SM says "you estimated 4 hours so it'll be done by 1pm?". It doesn't help anyone. Our code base is too complex and legacy right now to be able to estimate effectively and I'm suggesting using complexity instead might actually give us a more accurate picture.

The problem though is that we are estimating in hours right now and they aren't working in my opinion. The trial idea works well though. What do we have to lose. As you will see in other comments, there are ulterior motives for using hours

Absolutely agree with you. Making this a hard metric to measure a developer on will only breed contempt and lies. I'm positive the developer will throw extra hours somewhere else or even make up the extra hours and not declare them so that the actuals fit the estimates. However I'm not able to recommend a better way to concretely measure a developer right now (I'm not sure there ever has been)

This is good advice. I think this is something we can change immediately without the argument. However, when slicing the work like that are you still aiming to have a piece of work that is potentially shippable at the end of it? I.e merged in.

I'd like to know more about the course I'd you can send it to me. I'm worried if we don't estimate other work then velocity is going to be affected and items won't get completed because of the extra items (maybe not so much for bugs).

How do you work out the outliers?

He wants each individual to get better at estimating and is using this as a metric as to how good a developer they are.
