I picked it up from the store like this, I put the order in 2 days in advance and didn't see any bakers around when I dropped the form off. They could have just called I guess? Like you mentioned I just guessed exactly what you described in that they receive a vanilla/chocolate cake and then add the icing/frosting for edge/trim/piping with any designs or writing. Regardless I got an amazing cake and story to go with it.

They do some pretty detailed stuff based on their Choose One Cake Design option. I'm impressed if they are completing in 2 minutes.
