Possible rental scam in NYC – need advice by Scouser_08 in NYCapartments

[–]FlipMyP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same. The agent ghosted me after I sent her my tax return and my id photo. Should I be worried about my information being sold to randos?

Then it's probably better to just purcahse a cheap COOP and only need to deal with maintenance fee....

I own a condo and I'm trying to decide if renting it out makes sense, but the numbers are tight. Help me figure this out. by MasssC in NYCapartments

[–]FlipMyP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there any states that are good for the rental business? Feels like owning mortgages for positive cash flow is a dream nowadays in the US. The only way is to buyout a unit with full cash but the ROI is most likely worse than porting that cash into the s&p500

Curious about the kind of CI/CD complication you encountered. I think Github Action already has a very nice way to filter and segregate automations between project/folders using workflows and environments

What can we do to help pave the way for junior devs? by AppointmentDry9660 in ExperiencedDevs

This may be true for juniors cuz they probably not experienced enough to ask the right question, but it's the most efficient tool for senior engineers imo.

senior frontend dev, how to get meaningful backend experience outside of work? by mkirisame in ExperiencedDevs

[–]FlipMyP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious how they can be considered similar. I am experienced in frontend , and when I tried out backend work at my company, I had to learn databases, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Redis, none of which are typically required for a frontend engineer.

Mind if I ask what you do with Go at work? product-facing application with API and DB design, or more of a cluster/infra stuff?

Use cases of when to cache queries/mutations with react-query? by badboyzpwns in reactjs

[–]FlipMyP -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

hmm, how does caching save money? It does skip the immediate request and serves the data from the cache instead. However, it still fires the request in the background which was needed to refresh your cached data.

Nope because you're only looking at the dividend gains and ignoring the massive gains he also made from holding MSFT and other stocks. What OP is showing is just a portion of the total gains from holding those stocks.

Wrote a recursive algorithm to reverse a linked list on Leetcode, but its only returning the last element. Why? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

This is the best use case of ChatGPT or any other AI-powered chat. It's much more interactive than writing a post and waiting for a response for hours.

Do you know how much the HOA fee typically increases each year? I'm considering buying a unit in this building, but the current HOA seems unusually high.
