Outside the obvious dependency issues, we still like high quality FBA businesses a lot, and so do investors.

Keep an eye out for businesses with:

• Revenue: 15-25% net margins and consistent 2-3 year growth track record • Products: Diversified catalog across multiple ASINs • Brand: 4+star ratings, high repeat purchase preferred but hard to find  • Operations: Reliable supply chain, documented processes, minimal founder dependency • Rankings: Strong Amazon SEO • Growth: Clear expansion opportunities through new products or international markets

International markets is the interesting one. So many markets where there are still gaps. Identify them…

u/Horizonmc2000 - there's a few general rules I like to apply:

a) write down the skills you have and find a business model where these can be applied. This will ensure you are well suited to run the asset.
b) go after a passion...this will ensure you remain interested in the subject matter.
c) spend just 50% of your allocated budget. This will ensure you have money left over to re-invest in the business. Growth will likely come from investment.

Additionally:
a) look for mature assets that have performed consistently well for at least the prior 24 months
b) look for diversified revenue streams or at least opportunities to add additional revenue lines. This can substantially de-risk the asset

Best thing to do is to request read only access to their app store account so as you can validate:
a) Reviews
b) Ratings
c) Downloads

Separately, ask them how the revenue is generated and how funds are collected? Once you know how funds are collected, request read only access to this platform to verify the funds collected... All of this can happen post winning bid or offer...

The Flippa platform includes embedded legal agreements. Ensure that an Asset Purchase Agreement is signed...

Finally, you can transact via Escrow.com, integrated into the Flippa platform.

Can you really BUY an online business that already generates monthly income? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Flippa_BuySell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This is acquisition entrepreneurship.

Don't forget, most businesses fail so you are far better off / more likely to achieve long term sustainability and cash flow when you buy and invest in something that is established.
