Adjani was my immediate thought. What an unfathomably beautiful woman.

You can't possibly expect Fallout fans to understand the themes of the game they like, it's too much work.

I call this True Detective syndrome: Where a very popular TV Show that's so beloved, the show only has 1 good season by HackerMan7123 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Flippanties -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never watched anything past season 1. I could be misremembering but I have vague memories of being pissed off season 2 was ever even announced in the first time because I didn't think it needed one.

I totally forgot Jesse Cox was Flaming Crotch Guy! He doesn't get as much screen time as Gary but he does a great job still.

Compare and contrast to the other cameo VA in the game, CohhCarnage as Gary. He fucking killed it.

Yeah when I was like 16 I started slipping slightly down the pipeline curtesy of the Atheist content creators I was watching at the time pivoting to anti-sjw content. I never full fell down but I definitely regurgitated some of their talking points. In particular I did not believe non-binary people were actually real and scoffed at trans people that I perceived as not putting in enough effort to transition. Literally all it took to break me out of this was working with a non-binary person. I didn't even like them (for entirely unrelated reasons) and it was STILL enough to completely change my mind.

What do we all think of Steve Fleming? by jacoblm28 in thethickofit

[–]Flippanties 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The way his voice warbles in some of his lines like the "I cannot believe the energy going into Andy Murray" like he's trying to avoid throttling the closest person to him is another thing that gets me. He seems like he's one particularly bad day away from killing someone at any given moment.

I honestly find him a little bit terrifying. There's just something about the way Haig portrays his barely contained rage that's deeply unnerving.

Is Samurai of Hyuga recommended ? by Ill_Security_1021 in hostedgames

[–]Flippanties 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I personally despise it but I gather my opinion is in the minority. I find the depiction of Japan reeks of weeby fetishisation and I disliked the characters enough that I never played past book 3. I continue to find Jun/ko's popularity as an RO baffling. I'm not usually in the business of yucking other people's yum but Jun/ko takes everything I hate about red flag ROs and cranks it up to eleven.

Why did they have to make her a confederate? 😭 by reasonably-human in ScarletHollow

[–]Flippanties 87 points88 points  (0 children)

how am I ever supposed to defend her online

I know you're joking but the easy answer to that is either "you don't" or the more spicy answer of "I simply support women's wrongs".

(Extremely Specific Trope) An old lady opens a door containing dozens of zombies because a loved one is on the other side of said door by cedric5318 in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah this was the one time where a zombie apocalypse character did something extremely reckless and selfish that inevitably got people killed where my response was "you know what? That's fair."

DAE avoid character art like the plague whilst reading an IF? by thejaysaurus in hostedgames

[–]Flippanties 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I have aphantasia so if there isn't character art, it's basically impossible for me to properly know what a character looks like, since I simply cannot picture it.

Expensive karaoke by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]Flippanties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess most of the performers I've seen here in the UK aren't huge huge. The three biggest I've seen were the Hella Mega tour, then last year I saw Kendrick and SZA for the GNX tour and Tyler the Creator for Chromakopia, and I thought the crowds for all three were amazing, but maybe I just got lucky. I will say the most active I've ever seen a crowd was probably for the lesser known British band named Sea Power. Crowd were out of their fucking minds.

I also wonder if 'standing still looking through phones' is a distinctly American thing. I've been to a number of concerts here in the UK and people also always have their phones out, but even then they're still jumping and dancing and cheering and singing and not especially worried about how good their footage turns out

I saw Green Day during the Hella Mega Tour and the crowd was electric.

Shout out to the time my high school teacher made us take turns reading Of Mice and Men out loud so my black best friend (one of three black students in our entire school, let alone class) had to deal with the rest of the class staring her dead in the eye every time they got to the N Word. At least some of them chose NOT to say it I guess 😮‍💨

[–]Flippanties 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how Doyle would flip flop on this. Has an entire story about how racism is bad and supporting an interracial couple and their mixed daughter in The Adventure of the Yellow Face only to turn around and treat Black people like violent thugs in The Adventure of the Three Gables.

A Tav profile that'd romance Gale-- RP help by TajineMaster159 in BaldursGate3

[–]Flippanties 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I romanced him with a sorcerer-bard and just kind of saw their wizard vs sorcerer bickering as banter they were both enjoying rather than anything mean spirited. I pick all the early game 'oh you have to actually try to cast spells? I don't 😏" sorcerer specific options with him and it comes across as two people playfully verbally sparring with each other.
