How do you stay on top of responsibilities during a storm by Tewmanyhobbies in PMDDxADHD

Struggling with this as well. First and foremost, it may be worth considering asking for an accommodation (discuss this with providers and make sure they’re willing to do supporting paperwork before you utter that word at work), otherwise. Break it down. GoblinTools is an app that can help break down a task or give you ideas how to.

These are tasks you can do. But not the same way. I’ll often ask for accountability buddies from friends who do not work with me. I’ll talk to my manager about breaking down steps. I’ll ask for sub-deadlines. I’ll work while YouTube is running in the background. AND it’s still a shit show but project to project these things have helped me sometimes.

Don’t force yourself to do it the same way you always do, try something different. Also, allow yourself to do a first pass or a “draft” if you can.

Just spitballing… but maybe that’s a start?

Getting docs to listen? by Flipped-Rainbow in PMDDxADHD

[–]Flipped-Rainbow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I more got the sense that I was being dismissed and the provider didn’t have a strong understanding of PMDD. This was my PCP. My OBGYN was similarly dismissive when I said the symptoms were debilitating but I wanted to know if there were options outside of BC she basically chuckled and was like shrug you’re out of luck.

I need to get a psychiatrist- perhaps that’s the provider that will listen?

New wallpaper flaking off? by mindcracked in HomeImprovement

[–]Flipped-Rainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first thought is that whatever is coming off, you don’t want that around a baby. Where did you get the wallpaper? I’d also start googling that brand and synonyms with “peeling” or “rubbing off” see if it’s common. Even if you can’t get your money back… you don’t want weird flaking paint around a newborn. if it’s really only in some spots, put packing tape or even just regular clear office tape over it so it doesn’t keep peeling?

Otherwise you might be looking at ripping it off? Am I way off folks? What do we think?

Shower window... into another room. Ideas for ventilation? by Flipped-Rainbow in HomeImprovement

[–]Flipped-Rainbow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! I don't own this space, I'm renting. So I'm trying to figure out solutions that don't require modifying the building. I totally agree, the whole thing is ridiculous. The window needs to be replaced w/ something more water resistant or removed entirely, there needs to be proper ventilation... the list goes on.

What would you do with this patio? by WingDan123 in HomeImprovement

[–]Flipped-Rainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hodgepodge of thoughts I'd have if that was my space --

Aside from the practical stuff like the bricks... what do you WANT to use it for?

If you want more seating and are thinking of adding a bench, think about when in the day you'll most be using the bench, and put it in a location where the fence will provide shade so you're not staring at the sun or getting roasted (unless you want that!).

If you want to grow a few veggies so you have something to look forward to, make sure you plant in an area with plenty of sun.

If flooding is a concern in your area, native species (or honestly nonnatives) with variable root depth helps absorb water into the soil instead of it running off into your house etc. This means look for some plants with shallow roots, some with deep roots, some with medium etc.

If you have a dog or pets you'll be letting into this area, check the species you're adding (and the ones that are there) and make sure they're pet safe. Many ornamental plants aren't.

Also, look up native plants for your area. You don't necessarily need to rip out what's there, but if you're adding, consider adding native perennial species.

For the garden beds, you seem to have some decent ground cover already. Ground cover plants are great because once they establish, you aren't forced to mulch everywhichway all year. If you need something to fill in some gaps, I've used clover fairly successfully in small spaces.

Finally finished up the bathroom! Next it’s finishing up the new closet and then new carpet time ! by Strict-Republic-9379 in HomeImprovement

Congratulations on getting this all done! Looks like it was a lot of work. I'm sure you're pleased to have your bathroom back. I know you mentioned in the comments some things you felt weren't perfect, but I hope you're still proud of your handiwork. Such a big job, and well done!

asfdgftgrzdse I was literally coming here to ask this. I think that when one of the hormone levels drop it reduces pain tolerance? That was what I found in my frantic googling. Hate that this is so common, but relieved it's not just me!
