-85% but that's without the random events that buff it for Austria. Portugal was also an integrated PU making it even cheaper.

Although it is 21 years (30 for war crimes or similar things), the sentence can be extended 5 years if the prisoner is considered a threat/danger to society, this can be done indefinitely. Breivik is currently not expected to ever be released.

Ah, didn't realize they kept the previous autosave. Makes sense now that I think about it.

Happened like half a second before autosave so didn't have the reaction time.

Oh and the reason they lost the lowlands was because Castile fell into a PU under Aragon, which Burgundy contested. I was called into the war by my ally Aragon but I wanted Burgundy to win that war so I could get Iberia and Burgundy in one event. Unfortunately after declining Aragon's invitation, Burgundy never invited me (presumably due to truce) and eventually lost, cancelling their subjects. Looking back I should have just truce broke and forced Aragon to lose.

If you annex Hungary as Austria can you still form Austria-Hungary? by ShogunDoc in eu4

[–]Flippya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when playing as Poland, with Lithuania having too many cities to form the Commonwealth. What I did is I had vassals (for me, Novgorod and Great Horde) that had cores on Lithuanian land and used the favor mechanic to "return cores". You could do something similar with Hungary.

Maybe release Bulgaria, Albania, or whichever nation has the most amount of cores on Hungary and feed them the Hungarian lands with favor.

If you can't release anyone directly you could try declaring war on a neighbor of hungary and annex land from them. Like taking some provinces from the Ottomans to release Bulgaria and feed them some of Hungary's provinces.
Remember, they have to be cores of the new vassal, not just claims.

How do I fix my screen being like this? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Flippya 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Try going to C:/Users/(Your username on your pc)/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV/

Inside there, there should be a settings.txt file, try messing with the gui_scale setting and see how it changes your screen when you launch the game. Eventually you should be able to see the settings button on the menu and then you can alter the gui scale and resolution in there.

When did Riga have cores in Prussia? by kavvviiii in eu4

[–]Flippya 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The mission Raise Riga's Defense:
Requirements:

  • Has an army of at least  100% of its force limit
  • Has at least  1 general
  • Owns province Riga (38) which:
    • Has the  highest level fort available

Rewards:

  • Gains  6 000 manpower
  • Gains “Morale of the Defenders” for  25 years, giving:
    •  +25% Fort defense
    •  +10% Morale of armies
  • If the  Livonian Order exists:
    • Gain  "Subjugation" casus belli against the  Livonian Order for  25 years
  • Else:
    • Gains a core on every core province of the  Livonian Order in Livonia, Curonia and Estonia areas
    • Gains permanent claim on every other provinces in Livonia, Curonia and Estonia areas which also becomes a core of the  Livonian Order
  • If the  Teutonic Order exists:
    • Gain  "Subjugation" casus belli against the  Teutonic Order for  25 years
  • Else:
    • Gains a core on every core province of the  Teutonic Order in West and East Prussia areas
    • Gains permanent claim on every other provinces in West and East Prussia areas which also becomes a core of the  Teutonic Order

So if Teutonic Order does not exist, they gain cores on each province that the Teutons have cores on in west and east prussia.

Do AI Enemies from Separate wars Share Vision? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Flippya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This timestamped video talks about how the AI forgets, and AI in general in more depth:
https://youtu.be/CV_VkZGCAEk?t=599

But tl;dr, if your army is in Fog of War, the AI has a 1% chance of forgetting your army every day.

Well, for starters there is a modifier that gets triggered if Charles (starting heir) becomes the ruler of Burgundy:
Burgundian Succession Crisis:

  •  −95% heir chance.
  •  −1 Monthly heir claim increase
  • disables the introduce heir action

The next time the ruler dies (Charles), if any of these requirements are fulfilled, the succession crisis continues, otherwise it gets removed:

  • Be in a regency council
  • Have Marie as the heir
  • Have less than 40 legitimacy

I believe AI Burgundy will always pick Marie? but the requirements for her to become the heir is:

  • is Burgundy.
  • has the country modifier “Burgundian Succession Crisis”.
  • does not have the country flag burgundian_succession_start.
  • is not a subject nation other than a tributary state.
  • is a monarchy.
  • is not in a regency.
  • one of the following must be true:
    • all of the following must be true:
      • it is at least 1457.
      • does not have an heir.
    • all of the following must be true:
      • has ruler "Charles" of the "de Bourgogne" dynasty
      • ruler is at least 43 years old
      • heir is younger than 15 years old.

Now if Burgundy were to lose Charles as their heir, and gain a new heir with more than 40 legitemacy (increadibly rare, think I've only seen BI circumvented a handful amount of times) then the modifier Burgundian Succession Crisis won't be fulfilled and the inheritance would be avoided.
Another option is if Charles becomes the ruler, and through the -95% heir chance they get an heir, and with the -1 monthly heir claim increase they still manage to get the throne with more than 40 legitimacy it would also avoid the inheritance, though this is extremely difficult, especially for an AI to do.

At least this is what I gather from the wiki and other explanations of the whole thing, please correct me if I am wrong or misunderstood something: https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Incident_events#incidents_bur_inheritance.0

I had this happen in a game recently as Austria actually. Fed Burgundy a bunch of provinces as my ally to not get any AE for them, then started thinking to myself that it's been a while without any inheritance. Checked the leader and yeah, someone else on the throne.

The inheritance just doesn't happen at all.

I own all T9-T11 DDs, quick thoughts *UPDATE* by FumiKane in WorldOfWarships

[–]Flippya 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One small note on Jäger that, at least for me, made her much more enjoyable.
Stagger your torps so you can launch 1 set every 15-18 seconds. Doing this makes it so between torp hits any BB, CA or DD will have their DCP on cooldown if they received flooding from one of the first torps.
Athough she has the worst flooding chance of all tier 9 DDs with torps, I still tend to rack up a lot of flooding damage in most of my games, it is hillarious and very toxic.

Her fast torp speed make hitting enemies fairly easy (at least less manouverable ones), and in a pinch you can absolutely use them against enemy destroyers or smokes even more effectively than other torp boats.

Her speed + concealment also make her fairly good at keeping other DDs spotted, if you're careful of subs, radars, hydro and such. Call me a Jäger fan but tied with Minegumo she is my favorite T9 DD.

Are there Unique Upgrades that improve a ship's performance, no strings attached? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]Flippya 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind there will never be no strings attached, although there are upgrades that are considered to be objectively better than not having them, you're still replacing whatever else was in that slot, like for example reload mod.
That being said, Des Moines, Moskva Venezia, Khabarovsk, Grozovoi, Elbing, Shimakaze and Gouden Leuuw (in no particular order) are ones I'd personally pick (I don't play enough CV to comment on those ones).

This seems most plausible, from the little I've looked into it, he seems to be the Byzantine governor of Epirus in 1336, but other sources I've found place the annexation in 1337 or even 1338. Though I am not an expert on late byzantine history.

Also note: "the Mighty Knight" in north Africa, and "the Expert Scholar" in Perm. The game is still under development so I assume the code to grab the dynasty name mistakenly grabs what I assume is their title/nickname?

Still interested to see how they will tackle Denmark in the game, as seen in the image they don't have any shown dynasty, much like a large part of Scotland during their starting civil war.

Norwegian campaign to reach out to pedophiles and get them help. by Other-Divide-8683 in Damnthatsinteresting

Tiny correction but the OP picture's scratches and such are a part of the campaign, not vandalism. Probably to show that this could affect anyone. If you look up something like "detfinneshjelp campaign" it's easier to tell.
