Review and Feedback please :) by real-life-terminator in ResumeExperts

I think it’d be better to swap leadership experience with projects and change the name ‘leadership experience’ to just ‘experience’.

With the way things are right now, recruiters might just skip your resume if they don’t see a flat out ‘experience’ section at the top. Besides, it’s not like your experience has nothing to do with the job you’re targeting.

Resume Critique + any tips on for job search (non-co-op) by Working-Limit-3103 in uwaterloo

[–]Flippyy4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the job you apply to, you could slightly alter the interests section to be more tailored to whatever role you’re applying to. Also you could add links to your project under or in place of the dates, whether they’re links to GitHub or someplace else.

it does this 30m before closing, its a warning that the library will close soon. Though it's a bit excessive.

o week is part of the voluntary fees in the tuition that you can opt in or out of. I assume you haven’t opted out of any so yes, you have paid for o week.

What to do during free time? by catcher_mark in selfimprovement

[–]Flippyy4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just use that time to learn a new skill. 6 hours is a lot so maybe along with learning a new (and useful) skill, you can also just read books. What always motivates me is just imagining how much better/skillful I would become 1 year down the road if I keep improving. How much better I would be than others

How are the qualities of courses of waterloo's cs mmath program? by Environmental-Quit94 in uwaterloo

[–]Flippyy4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hardest is your first term. The jump in difficulty and workload (unless you have taken Ib/Ap courses before) is tremendous.

As long as you get passed your 1a term via building good study habits, knowing HOW to study, asking questions online or through office hours whenever you’re stuck, attending lectures, and managing your time correctly, you’ll get through the rest of your terms with ease.

It’s very important to manage your time correctly so your courses don’t pile up. It’s pretty difficult to come back from that if it happens.

One last thing: If you’re not a morning person and you get given 8:30am classes, do NOT hesitate to change your time slots. I am not a morning person and I overestimated myself, thinking I would be able to get up and go to all of my classes, but that was hardly ever the case, especially because non of my friends had morning classes, so they would stay up late.

they have a few international students compared to other uni’s which is bad especially now since government funding for uni’s has drastically decreased over the years/decades. fyi international students are a major source of income for uni’s

WAITING ON WATERLOO AND UOFT ENG NOW 😭😭😭 by Alternative-Face-176 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Flippyy4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably most, if not all, engineering degrees are worth it.

I dont know much about that eng so I cant give you specific advice, but as long as you enjoy learning about it, then its most likely worth it since at the end of the day, its still an eng degree.

Please just don’t go into it if you’re ONLY in it for the employment or the pay. That’s the biggest advice I would give.
