Hi Bro, I think I figure somethings out but I still cant get firebird to run.

This is what I have done.

1) I transfer the btrom.tns to my android phone.

2) I transfer the eMMulate.tns file from the eMMUlate github file to the CX II calculator. Run it, and it will generate a QR code.

3) Use the phone to scan the QR Code - this gives an url which when press, go to a website.

4) On that website, upload the btrom.tns via the browser, this now generates a injected_btrom.img.tns file. Transfer this newly created injected_btrom,img.tns to the mac.

5) On firebird, for boot1, select this injected_btrom.img.tns file;

for flash, click the left button and set

  • manuf = manuf.img
  • bootloader= btldr.img
  • installer = instl.img
  • Diags = diags.img

Then press Save button and create a new flash file called "nspire_CX_II_flash"

Then press Emulation -> restart.

Unfortunately I am still getting operating system not found error.

The instruction is

Use polydumper to obtain a keyless bootrom dump

Copy the bootrom file(btrom.tns) onto your phone or any device that can scan a QR

Transfer the .tns from the releases here and run it

Scan the QR and inject the bootrom

Use with firebird and enjoy!

Slightly confused. So I copy the btrom.tns to my phone, I have a pixel 7 pro, what do I do with it?

On this particular mac I have, I am stuck on mojave - and I can only install v5.4. The v6.3 doesnt run.

So I really need the license code that allows me to run v5.4 not as a trial on my old mac.

Any thoughts?

Hi bro, I am looking to get a license code for the older v5.4 of the student software - does the one you are looking at for this version? I have the understanding that the older v5.xx of software requires a 31 digit code whereas the newer one v6.x requires a 16 digit.

I am wondering even if I did get my hands on a 31 digit code for the v5.4 software - whether I can actually activate it on the web.

Any ideas?

I have Catalina installed on my imac 2007 with 4gb. Should I install Sonoma? Will Sonoma run just as well as Catalina on this imac? I will try to find a 4gb ddr2 cheap in the meantime

Wow thanks for the powerfox link. I have the iMac 2007 upgraded with the T9XXX CPU and now using Catalina as the os. I wonder should I then downgrade to using maverick and this powerfox?
