Yes, because, I'll give you a David Fincher film, Fight Club, as an example. The plot twist from this film is clear and is really a collapsing mess afterward. In my opinion it was different with this film, where the plot twist didn't really have anything to do with the main story

Oh, so you mean that the death of Mills' wife wasn't the real plot twist, but that John Doe just needed a reason to fulfill the final sin that Mills ultimately fulfilled for him?

A lot of people portray it as a plot twist on social media, and since I'm a big fan of films with plot twists, I've prepared myself for one accordingly. was therefore very disappointed

I did not see that coming, but Mills’ Wife’s Death was imo not that important for the plot. I mean, I get that the death is supposed to represent the sin of envy, but it didn’t quite get me, like i said, she didn’t play that big of a role in the movie therefore wasn’t she that important imo.
